Would ur Eleven plot with a female instead of mike? For a potential innocent crush plot?

okay so this is gonna get a lot more in depth than ur question but it all connects i swear

bottom line is I DON’T NECESSARILY SHIP THE CANON MIKE & JANE. there are certain aspects of their canon relationship that i adore, but there are also certain things that i don’t like due to how i portray jane and just as i watch i think could be done a bit better. the show seems to kind of shove romance at certain things when there could have been more, and again, some of the stuff i don’t like is due to the fact that i headcanon jane as being demiromantic and asexual and i just don’t think it really works with how i see her character and in all some of those parts just look forced ( not by the actors but honestly like jane is forcing herself ).

here’s what i’m not saying. IM NOT SAYING I DON’T SHIP MIKE AND JANE. i believe with development and care, these two have such a strong bond that they could be anything. and lets be real, their screen time together makes me want to cuddle puppies. when i ship mike and jane, it comes with some serious talking and headcanoning ( ask bee tbh ive been doing this a lot with them ). mike is jane’s first friend and she feels SO MUCH for him. their bond that they grew honestly is the only canonly strong enough bond that i could see jane having any relationship with. but yeah, when it comes to how canon shows mike and jane i kinda am eh. but give me that development and i am THERE

a blanket statement on crush plots is this : i am totally down for anyone having a crush on jane, but again, it will take serious development for jane to have that kind of crush back. she doesn’t get romantic relationships, like what it feels like or how they work. i have it kinda headcanoned that jane ( if not “dating” mike ) would go out with nearly anyone who asked her bc shes not sure if shes feeling the way your suppose to or not. and she doesn’t want to say no and then have it be the one person she actually did like. basically, she would date everyone and not have an emotional connection to one of them.

now if the question is more just would jane date a girl, then the answer is hell yeah. she’d date everyone.
