ELEVEN QUESTIONS

okay my question are….
1. If you could remake one of your fave classic films with modern actors and it not be shit, who would you cast in what film?
Oh this is sooo scary because OMG, modern things are usually shit, but I think that if you are remaking something that was kind of crap to begin with you are fine. How about this: The Magic Box with Jeremy Northam as William Friese Greene (JN has already proven he's a Donat doppleganger in The Winslow Boy) with all my favorite British actors in cameo parts. Pretty much the entire cast of Spooks and all the JA adaptations could turn up. It could just have everyone like the original did and it would be super popular because everyone is in it and I could go see JN on the big screen again. SIGH. Also a remake of Jane Eyre with either Armitage or McAvoy as Rocheseter. I don't care who is Jane. They always cast Jane right more or less after they ugly her up a bit. It's Roch that's a problem...
2. If you could be behind the scenes on set for one day on a film (old or new - you can have a one-use time machine for this) which film?
OK, this is something I've spent an embarrassing amount of personal time thinking about. I would like to be a script or costume assistant on Oh, Rosalinda! because I would get to meet so many of my faves (Michael, Anton, Quayle, Price) and I could maybe sabotage Mel Ferrar so that they had to replace him--like maybe a mild, non-life threatening poison. I guess at the point at which you are contemplating light poison you need to rethink your life/choices...
3. Name something/one immensely popular that you can’t understand the appeal of?
Winged eyeliner. Seriously, who thought this was a good trend to bring back? And it's everywhere. It's super hard to do, takes a million years to perfect and contrary to popular belief is not universally flattering.
4. Pick your two favourite foods. If you had to give one up for a month which one would it be?
Bacon and chocolate. If I had to give up one, it would be chocolate, because I think I could just eat a lot of other sweets to make up for it, but bacon is in most of my favorite recipes and I would probably not live long without it.
5. Least favourite colour?
Sage green because it reminds me of the time before Robert was born when we didn't know the sex of the baby and all the "gender neutral" stuff was sage green. Also hospital and clinic waiting rooms now all seem to be sage green. UGH. I HATE IT. Weirdly, green is one of my favorite color families and there are lots of greens quite close to sage green that I really like.
6. If you could be a character in a novel without being able to change the story who would you be?
A random partygoer at Gatsby's in West Egg or the Netherfield Ball.
7. If you could be a character in a novel and you could change the story (just by your actions), who would you be and how would you change it?
I would be the bar tender in Tess and cut Tess' father off so that he wouldn't be too drunk to drive to the market. I would be be Mr. Earnshaw in Wuthering Heights and not adopt random urchins from Liverpool because I feel sorry for them. Also fire abusive assholes like Joseph from my employment.
8. Favourite author that you would recommend to anyone, whoever they are?
I can't think of anyone who wouldn't benefit from reading Jane Austen, if they haven't already.
9. Name a talent/ability/competency that you have that you don’t often boast about?
I'm pretty good at research, either online or in a library.
10. What’s the first thing you unpack when you’ve moved house (if you have)?
Tea making stuff
11. Favourite physical format of entertainment (music/film/literature/um anything else you might think of)?
Film
My eleven questions:
1) What's your favorite museum and why?
2) If you could give your 13 year old self one piece of advice what would it be?
3) Name three luxuries you consider necessities.
4) Favorite Shakespeare play?
5) Name a talent that you've always envied in others?
6) What do you consider your biggest triumph in life?
7) what do you consider your biggest failing?
8) What's your role among your friends (are you the clown, the responsible one, the instigator, the peacemaker, the shit-stirrer, the dark horse...)
9) Name a fandom that you'd never heard of before you were on tumblr, but you are now part of.
10) What annoys/angers you most about tumblr?
11) name three ships that you wish there was more/any fanfiction for?

LOL!! I still *have* my patent leather Nine West backpack purse! It’s big enough to function as an overnight bag, so I’ve never gotten rid of it.
Lila is a little backpack girrrrrrrl
*Sung it to the tune of Sheena is a Punkrocker.*
Isn't it great when you have something vintage and it comes back into style, though?! It does make me feel old, but also kind of triumphant.

This is fascinating—it sounds a lot like Wyoming, though I was last there 18 yrs ago. Also, I’m super glad you’re back—Tumblr has NOT been the same without you. ♥
Awww, I missed you too, bb.

STRENUOUS ‘YES’ FOR ANOTHER VALKYRIEN VOICE POST OF IMMENSE VOICEPORNY GOODNESS, PLZTHX! I miss your perfectly rounded vowels. ;)
Thank you darling, you're too kind^^
I may put together something tomorrow while I'm alone in the house, but since I still have very little idea as to precisely what should go into it, it may all yet go pear-shaped. We'll see.

My main coping mechanism w/my weird disease is tuning out & I get overwhelmed when forced to ‘tune in’ to it. Glad to hear of your painkiller aversion, though; I eventually graduated from Vicodin to heroin (I’m clean now) & do NOT want that for you.
My darling, my darling, how I wish that had never, ever happened to you...
and you don't have to worry about me developing any addictions, I promise. That illness I suffered from when I was much younger has left me with an overwhelming fear of being unwell and of anything resembling medication or vaccinations or anything at all which might result in me having to go to hospital. I'm also allergic to most strong painkillers so I'm never prescribed them, and I have a really bad reaction to morphine as well. I am utterly convinced that taking anything more than a few hundred mgs of ibuprofen would kill me. The last time I was vaccinated for anything I broke down completely, and I was sick for days afterwards because my body hated the vaccine. I've been offered various things over the years and never even in the darkest depths of depression have I been at all tempted. I'm just convinced it would kill me, and that's not how I'd want to go.
I'm so glad you've overcome it and I don't mean to do you a disservice by saying I wish it had never happened to you because I know we are who our past experiences have shaped us to be and you're perfect as you are now, I only wish that you could have been spared all that pain.
