Silver really is like the most fourteen year old character ever. When you’re middle school age you really start building up your sense of justice and personal moral compass. You feel everything SO much ALL the time and you feel the need to right the wrongs you see. You also don’t have a ton of experience in life yet to make you jaded. Your hopes aren’t dashed, you’re open and impressionable. But also, you’ve probably been through some shit already. You’ve felt pain, betrayal, confusion, loss, etc. You aren’t completely naive in feeling your convictions this strongly. That’s silver
Rip bozo
I wanna see a Maria who isn’t introduced to shadow by Gerald. She finds Shadow herself, sneaking through the ark in the dead of night. She’s in trouble already; she’s been real cold and uncooperative towards her nurses and doctors on the ark (though who can blame her?). The codes to grandpa’s lab are seared into her brain so getting in undetected isn’t a problem. She finds her medical charts, some graphs, an incubation tube that wasn’t there last time she visited the lab. And inside…well, you know. It’s Shadow. Slowly, she starts to befriend the hedgehog, first by gesturing and drawing through the tube, but she eventually figures out how to let him out and put him back before the day begins. They’re fast friends and eventually like siblings. She feigns ignorance about grandpa’s projects when asked, but eventually slips and is caught by Gerald late one night. Maria freaks that shadow is gonna get taken away, but the old man softens and sees that both of them need a friend
I think that Maria Robotnik was a hopeful, kind, and compassionate girl, but she was also a kid with an incurable illness raised in space. Add that to middle school being the absolute worst time in many kids’ lives, and there’s some fire in her. She’s not a saint, she’s allowed to be bitter that she’s ill and not on earth where she belongs, she doesn’t always get along with others due to her illness related isolation. She’s a perfect companion to shadow because they parallel on these questions of purpose and bitterness and how do we maintain hope and goodness through it all
The bird motif for Amy in Sonic Prime is so fascinating, more specifically, the idea of the caged bird. We literally see it with the Flicky inside Rusty’s chest in New Yolk, but it’s also present for Thorn Rose shutting herself inside the jungle with big Birdie. I think it has the potential to speak directly to Green Hill Amy’s inner life and spirit as the show goes on.
I wanna live in a world where silver and blaze make it into a sonic cartoon
I love how happy and enthusiastic Blaze is in the Olympic Games series, particularly Tokyo
It’s such a fun contrast to her usually serious and a little shy demeanor. She’s out here having fun with her friends :)
