Did Mc's parents ever try to look for them after they were kidnapped?

I don't want to get too deep into what happened since it would spoil a lot of chapter 6 and 7. But, yes! They did try to find their children when they were stolen. I should mention that the MC's birth Parents, Abeshai and Lillemor didn't just lose the MC that night. But the twins, Soren and Gralon (names subject to change - Poll incoming). Both of whom were 16 years old at the time. (The MC was around four/five at the time.)

Near the end of the Prologue, the MC has a chance to decide the singular memory that they remember of their past. That being:

(Nothing) The day they met the apprentice. The crone. Everything else is a blur.

(Fear) Running through a burnt forest as they are hunted by a howling monster.

(Comfort) A soft voice whispering in their ear, a hand covering their eyes.

(Blood) A pair of boys, young and vicious. Fighting a never-ending sea of shade and rot.

(Daggers) A man, grizzled and bleeding screams a name. Taken by the ghosts that control him.

(Singer) A woman with burning eyes, laughing through the pain as music fills the air.

So I was gonna ask how MC's adoptive mother would react when they as a child goes up to them and say "You're very pretty!" But before that I wanted to become reacquainted with her character, but uh... (not because she's melded with the ground, she's majestic in her own right)...can this scenario still apply?

Oh yes it can! It’s not going to pop up in the demo, but when you officially meet Lilibye you do find out that the MC is her favorite ‘child’ and that they were as close as a kidnapping victim and an ancient elf corpse can get.

As for reacquainting you with Lilibye:

Her birth name was Lilibyelo Nattsol. She was once a Gavanthi (Elven) woman who took her entire tribe alongside their slaves and fled into the Fell mountains during the first human rebellion. Both she and her people were killed by the She-Dragon, Bethsheba, sometime during the first cycle.

For centuries her soul was left to wallow in pain from her failure to save her people. Forced to watch the world go by without being able to intervene. It wasn’t until the last dragon cycle when a mother-Grove bloomed in her vicinity and the lich queen was able to be reborn.

Normally when a Lichling is born they are able to move about. However her body had decayed to the point that she was fused into the cavern wall, a tree, and several other Gavanthi bodies. So when she finally awoke she was unable to move more than the end off her waist. Trapped, she was forced to eat all of the other reborn lich and godlings until she could safely transform into that of a true born Lich. By then she was strong enough to be able to create the first Lilibuel. To hunt for her. Over time the lilibuel would bring back more and more people for her to consume and create into more and more of her children. Stronger than the last.

The ‘tentacles’ are actually the other fused Gavanthi bodies, whose souls were too weak to be reborn when the Mother-Grove bloomed. They act as extensions of her hunger.

Personality wise she is very doting and kind to those that obey her many whims. And while she is incredibly patient, she does turn into a nightmare the second she believes that she is being ignored. The mother of monsters has a habit of murdering entire swarms of her children in her rage.

As for your scenario! I want to make it into a short story. Once I finish cleaning my car I’ll make sure to post! See ya in a bit!

God, ya got that right. As for your other question.

Yes! She is one of the MCs three parents. ‘She’ stole the MC when they were around 4/5 years old alongside the MCs twin brothers.

The Lilibuel - Concept

Monsters bound to the Eternal Night.

From top to bottom:

Lurkers Most Common monster Bat-like creatures with large crystals growing out of their backs. When killed, these crystals tend to shatter and explode. Taking their killer with them.

Howlers Common monster Blind daughters of Sorrow. The eyes across their forehead allows the Lich Mother herself to see what is going on outside of her lair. Quick and vicious, they are the tongue of Lilibye.

Groa Uncommon The Servants of Lilibye. They are the fathers of Lurkers and Howlers bore upon the mother of monsters.

The Knights of Eternity Rare The will of The Eternal Night, these children are the bane of human existence. But is that all?
