Call if a fake religion if you want because they don’t believe in a God(s) or Goddess(es)--I do not care.

I believe there are branches of Buddhism that are atheist, so if you want to discredit The Satanic Temple on that premise you will also need to apply this logic to other religious and spiritual traditions.

I’m sure many people could make the case that in their opinion all religions are fundamentally fake.  There is no conscious, self aware force or creator who set the universe in motion.  Religion exists to perpetuate and reinforce social norms and traditions, being part of a religious community gives someone a sense of meaning, belonging and social support.  Sometimes, but not always religion provides an explanation for what we do not fully understand.

I find their commitment to activism compelling.
