I'm playing P5 Royal to try and beat it (finally) and I've just had the realization that the final boss in Futaba's palace hits so hard on my wish that I could have been protected from my own mother...
Like I'm highly aware that it's just her cognition if her mother but it doesn't make me wish any less that someone would have fought against her. The people around me did the best they could (being kids themselves) and I love them for it. I just always end up with fantasies of the adults around me who knew what was happening being able to do something or my alters pulling me out of it.
I dont resent anyone about any of it. It's just all left me so complicated. I dream of Sunshine and Aril putting her in her place and tearing into my father and siblings. Of Idia swooping in and taking care of me where they all failed to.
It fills me with some sense of longing... I'm okay now. It's just such a sad feeling.
