the danish word for this day is one of my favourite day-describing words out there: lillejuleaftensdag. it means little christmas eve’s day, as in the day of the evening before the evening of christmas. what an unnecessarily complicated and irrelevant word that gets used surprisingly often. way more than 23rd of december.
