Happy Birthday Lillian Gregory— For Dick Gregory, Thanksgiving was on November 24th, Lillian’s Birthday. His planning typically began a week out as he carefully cultivated dozens of birthday cards. Being visual, he never read the inside. His selections were made solely by the images on the card’s cover. Like a jigsaw puzzle, my mother could always piece the cards together and understand the message in a way only a true soulmate could. There were multiple floral arrangements, remembering his wife’s affinity for shades of purple and lavender while also remembering her disdain for red roses. After an amazing birthday, they'd rest up and prepare to protest with their Native American sisters and brothers treating Thanksgiving as a national day of mourning. Yin and Yang, Life's precious balances 🙏🏿 Wishing our Gregory family matriarch a healthy and happy birthday 🎂 ❤️ Love you Mom — @drchristiangregory #lilliangregory #dickgregory Repost: @therealdickgregory https://www.instagram.com/p/CH-SWqVAwMA/?igshid=17xymos7ucmcc
