The detail and effort Brooks put into the accounts, the exploration not only of the horrors of a world ending plague set loose on humanity, but also of the (sometimes necessary) evils humanity inflicted upon itself in its wake! It felt so introspective and troubling and yet hopeful as well, and when I first heard there was a movie coming out I was so EXCITED.
Then I saw the massive zombie-tower and that they didn't even have the respect to keep one of the most basic aspects of how the zombies functioned (a slow moving, relentless but gradual force compared to a fricken wildebeest stampede) and I immediately lost all enthusiasm. Never watched it and tbh I hope I never have to, it'd make me too sad for what could have been.

Thank you. And yeah - thankfully my primary care doctor is generally pretty good to me, and when I told her what happened she was super apologetic. She’s given me another referral to a different provider and I have a new appointment set up with them, but it won’t be until May 3rd.

W: Do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?
I love love love specific prompts, because I like knowing what kind of fic or drabbles people want to see me write and also because it helps me keep on top of my bad habit of letting my word count run away from me. Usually when I ask for prompts it's because I'm looking to do some short pieces - five sentence fics, 250-500 word drabbles, that kind of thing. More specific prompts help me focus in on the meat of the little story I want to tell much more easily. HOWEVER more general / vague prompts can be a lot of fun too, especially when I feel like doing some more emotive / poetic pieces.

I'm a card carrying member of the Merril deserved better 2021 party. I feel like she's infantilized to hell and back, especially in regards to her efforts to restore the mirror. She didn't go into the process lightly - she gave up her place in her clan, made carefully calculated decisions and risks, and took every reasonable precaution she could. She straight up asks Hawke to come with her when she goes to deal with the demon so that if things go badly, Hawke can kill her before she becomes a threat. She puts only herself at risk - Marethari's possession and death is tragic, but only happens because of her choice to interfere. And for the love of Andraste, why was Morrigan the eluvian expert when Merril is RIGHT THERE?
Z: Major character death–do you ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death you can’t tolerate?
I tend not to write it myself outside of some throw away "what if?" kind of drabbles or one shots when I feel the need to exorcise some angst demons. I don't seek it out in fanfic either, but I'm not opposed to it. Though I won't lie - I can't deal when I see fic or comics of a Zevran who has lost his Warden to the ultimate sacrifice. Please - please let this man hold on to one good, positive thing in his life. He's been through so much already please just let him be happy.

I really just - do not see the appeal in hatemance or hate fucking style ships. The kind where the pair spend all their time having loud and/or violent arguments followed up by loud and/or violent sex. Like @for-the-ninth said in their answer for the same question, seeing a pair go through an argument and then having some fun sexy makeup shenanigans? Heck yeah! But if that's a solid 90% of what the pairing amounts to... just not my cup of tea.
I'm also not fond of how some AUs I've seen for DA (inquisition especially) treads pretty darn far into "the noble savage" tropes which is very.... icky feeling, to put it mildly.
For your fic ask thingie, I'm low key curious about all of them, but that is a lot... so how about D for bloodletter AU, K, L, S, and U? 😁

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?
Ohhh that's a genuine tough one. I used to write a lot more angsty stuff back in the day before I decided I needed a happy ending to look forward to at the very least. I would say it's probably a tie between an abandoned F!Hawke/Fenris fic I had where Hawke was turned tranquil by rogue Templars after the Chantry boom, and my original timeline for Revka and Zevran. It involved Zev being out of the picture for a literal decade without Revka knowing why he left and a son Zevran didn't get to meet until said years went by. I like the way I have things ending for them now much, much more.
L: What’s the weirdest AU you’ve ever come up with?
Another tie between a Mad Max style post-apocalypse Undertale AU and a Solarpunk art deco / art nouveau style Dragon Age AU involving basically the entire cast from all three games. They were both ridiculous and I loved them.
S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
Give me all the slow burns. I'm such a sucker for a long, drawn out romance with a bunch of near misses and tender moments building up slowly over time.
I also am an unabashed monster lover, so aus where one member of a ship is like - a mermaid, a werewolf *cough cough* a vampire *cough cough* or something like that are all going to have me making huge heart eye emojis.
Other big faves include arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, star crossed lovers, both people thinking their feelings are unrequited, and a massive helping of friends to friends with benefits to the benefits getting messy because "Oh no I caught FEELINGS".
U: A pairing you might like to write for, but haven’t tried yet.
Technically I've already written for them, but I don't think one drabble counts in the grand scheme. I would really love a chance to develop and write more of Imakai Adaar and Varric. I feel like they would start very firmly in the friends to friends with benefits territory, but I see a lot of delicious deep but carefully hidden pining from Kai, as well as some pining on Varric's end mixed up in some very complicated emotions around lingering feelings for Bianca and his reluctance to "betray" her / his devotion to her. Not to mention adding in the potential for Cole to accidentally reveal things they don't exactly feel ready for the other to know and it's just - *chef's kiss*.

It was a McStruggle, oh my god. Don't beat yourself up for not being able to make them work! It took me and my husband six hours of futzing to get them to work properly, and he's a software engineer. So I think that's saying something for the difficultly, lollll
As for who I'm gonna romance, this'll be a run of my main girl Revka Tabris. So I'll be romancing Zevran this go! ... Not that I have much luck romancing anyone else in this game when he's just standing there like that. The jerk.
