Ask game: 16 & 20?
16) What's a piece of advice you would give to yourself five years ago: 'Don't forget about cover crops.' They cut the park shrubbery I hadn't realized was acting as such a windbreak and then for three years in a row I was adding in more garden soil at various times in the season. Finally last year I took my snippers and trimmed the weeds down to stubble but let them stay, which was a time-consuming and knee-crunching hassle and got me some very skeptical looks from fellow gardeners, but at least I didn't lose all my bought dirt! This year I've kept the garden covered through the spring (very sad to not try for an early greens-and-peas harvest, but the weather & budget & timing constraints combined overpowered me) and in my summer planting I'm going to fill all the vacant space around my eggplants with marigolds. I've got high hopes.
20) What do you wish someone would ask you: I've seen people on my dash interpreting this in two different ways, which I think is so neat. When I first saw it, I assumed it meant 'what question would you like to answer on tumblr that wasn't in this game'. The other interpretation I've seen a lot of people have is 'what question would you like to hear from someone in your real life'. Such an interesting split! In either case: there's already a question about music on this ask game, so I'd like one about food, I think. 'What food have you been craving recently', maybe, or 'what recipe would you like to try next'. I think both of those are pretty in keeping with the rest of the game. (my answers are related, actually. I want to try this recipe, and looking at it makes me crave lemon bars) In my real life, I'd like to be asked 'would you be comfortable working fully remote?' because the answer is yes, please, there is no need for me to be physically present on campus ever again. If I could go fully remote I would move us south to the mountains immediately and my life would drastically improve in I believe every single way.
