What does harlequin mean

Harlequin means the cat’s colour is mostly white, but with a good amount of colour splashes.

In general there is a distinction made between 4 different types of white spotting:

with white = very little white to less than 50% white (typically these are your mittens, socks, lockets and tuxedos)

bicolour = roughly around 50% colour and 50% white

harlequin = more white than colour (your typical cow cats)

van = almost entirely white (ideally only the ears and tail should show any other colour)
