“what? oh for goodness sake, i wasn’t the one who killed the man. i simply asked the questions and my brother found his answers to be incompetent. thus ending up in the death of a very fine stockbroker.” walking with haste beside the man, a puff of her own breath billowed before her as she exhaled, the cold nipping her reddening nose. “do you think i enjoy watching that happen? to see a man who has a wife and four children at home suddenly gone by the hands of my own sibling?” her voice now down to a hushed whisper, she eyed the fellow from the corner of her eye. “had i known what i was getting pulled into, i would have never agreed to going. i’d ask you to believe me, but i can certainly understand why you wouldn’t.”
It was a shame, the finest of disappointments. Dark eyes scanned the expression upon her face, in almost a desperate attempt to catch her in the lie. Micro expressions suggest disgust, regret -- no relishing nor pride -- and half heartedly does he accept that she is not like him. She is no comrade. It was an absolute shame. “ Death would've knocked on his door sooner or later, for death lacks in patience. It’s not the biggest loss, plenty die in the hands of others. It’s just the way the world works. ” Muffled words fall monotonously from his wind chapped lips, a brow raised as he pauses, hand outstretched to halt her own steps. “ Tell me, would you rather be the rabbit or eat the rabbit? ” His cryptic query is matched with a knowing smile. Her answer matters little. He knows exactly what she is and how to eat her.
