i think it's fascinating that ralsei and flowery seemingly have some sort of history from the way they talk to each other, especially since ralsei didnt seem to know there were dark worlds prior to chapter 1. their dynamic in general is so interesting to me considering only one of them should really be so knowledgeable about the prophecy and their role in it

utterly love how much of chapter 5 is drowning in subtext about kris

in chapter 4 we see that dark worlds are influenced by the perception and desires of its creator, and then in chapter 5 the seven flowers are very transparently heavily influenced by not only kris' perception of the flowers but of themself.

kris is a human who wishes to be a monster (see: kris as a child wearing horns, their puppydog antics, their response to the shopkeeper in chapter 5 when they mention animal ears), so the flowers want to be human.

aqua is kris' troublemaking and penchant for violence and destruction (especially as a kid).

seth reflects kris' gender, and perhaps even their feelings or admiration for berdley(?)

yellow and blue could represent their relationship with justice and morality, perhaps even their relationship to the soul? (yellow and blue, like their light and dark world palettes) i could also see their relationship representing kris' own approach to love and attachments

green reflects how little they speak (and how we never really directly hear anything they say), as well as their status as a double agent, since green helps both kris and the flowers the entire time. also of course their shyness and inner kindness

orange is another one im not completely sure about, but if i had to say, probably their feelings of ineptitude as it relates to being a human, perhaps even some form of dysphoria. she probably also reflects kris' relationship to asriel (and probably dess) as their younger sibling

flowery is obviously based on asriel, especially given ralsei's initial reaction to him. i think it's really fascinating how flowery feels about kris, and i wonder if it's a reflection of kris' fears of what asriel might think of them now. his design similarities with noelle/the holidays were also pointed out to me which i think is really fascinating

without getting too much into the "secret flower", they're very obviously a representation of kris and the soul's relationship, though i think it's interesting the roles feel somewhat "reversed" here.

and then of course the flowers seeking asgores love is very obviously a reflection of kris' own desire to feel loved and recognized by asgore (and probably toriel, too, honestly), and their overwhelming desire to feel like they have a family again, even if it's found family

i originally thought this reading was way too much of a crackpot theory to post but seeing as seemingly everyone is hopping on the deltarune plurality train with chapter 5

i wanted to say that the reason i think the flowers appeal to plural systems so much is how much they resemble a lot of common headmate archetypes like protectors, caretakers, littles, etc. i sorta talked about this in my post about kris and the flowers earlier. i dunno, i just think it's neat :>

talking more about chapter 5 and kris because im obsessed with it

people have pointed out how much chapter 5 deals with jealousy, especially as it pertains to love from others, with stuff like kris' feelings towards susie (and noelle, at least in my krusielle-addled mind), but i think it also shows just how much kris is struggling right now.

like, this entire chapter is just kris watching those around them find love in some way.

susie and noelle, two of the most important people in their life, one of whom they're obviously crushing on, more or less start dating.

even if asgore is pretty terrible towards the flowers the entire chapter, they're a pretty wonderful little family on their own who all love and care for each other, in their own ways. meanwhile, toriel is too busy getting drunk with someone kris clearly does not like, and asgore is... well. he's asgore.

ralsei very clearly has feelings for kris, and these seem to be reciprocated at least somewhat (kris willingly saying "my happy ending is with you too), but you could potentially argue ralsei likes the soul and not kris themself.

and this isn't even including kris' status as an apparent double agent, their feelings about dess, whatever the hell is going on with noelle's mom and them...

so when kris walks susie 'home' to castle town, and she tells them she thinks they should invite noelle to an adventure that has been "their thing", before kris has to then walk home, in the dark, completely alone, it must have felt like a total gut punch.

i have a feeling that, at some point in these final two chapters, kris is going to reach their breaking point and potentially cause The Roaring, or something similar. maybe we'll finally get to see them speak, and all these bottled-up feelings of theirs will spill over, and kris will finally have SOME semblance of agency for once without needing to resort to ripping us out of them. we're definitely approaching the climax of their character arc, for sure.
