Happy Armed Forces Day with the Mighty Moose 🇺🇸 🇺🇸💪💪. Here’s a throwback to the Moose I encountered at the Singapore Airshow 2020 and LIMA 2019. The Moose (from Joint Base Pearl-Harbor Hickam in Hawaii) at the Singapore Airshow was a special one. On 27th July 2018, It was involved in the mission to bring home the remains of 55 United Nations servicemen from the Korean War (1950-1953). It flew into Wonsan, North Korea, still considered enemy territory, collected the 55 caskets and flew on to Onsan Airforce Base in South Korea. This repatriation of remains was an agreement that was obtained after the historic North Korea-US Summit between US President Trump and North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un held in Singapore on 12th June 2018. There are still more than 7,000 US servicemen who are listed as Missing-in-Action (MIA) from that war. This process of seeking closure will be a slow and painful one. Learnt about this when I had the opportunity to speak with the Load Master who was on that mission to bring home those 55 caskets. More details on this mission can be read here: https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/22456/usaf-c-17-brings-remains-of-american-troops-to-osan-air-base-from-north-korea #SGAirshow2020 #LIMA19 #ArmedForcesDay #AviationGeek #MilitaryEnthusiast #MilitaryAviation #MilitaryHistory #aviation4u #excellentaviation #USMarines #USMC #USNavy #USN #USAirForce #PacificAirForcesDemoTeam #KimTrumpSummit2018 #JointBasePearlHarborHickam #USAF #C17 #GlobemasterIII #Moose #Boeing #Singapore #Sunday #Throwback #PlanesPatchesPeople (at Singapore) https://www.instagram.com/p/CARmPnwh0DY/?igshid=2qi0oj9re63i
