Gonna ramble about more predator badland things below 🥰 mostly about Dek and Kwei

The more I remember the intro to the movie the more sad I get remembering Kwei’s behavior…

Since we now know that before the sparring match began he was already tasked to cull his brother one way or another.

Aside from being Njhorr’s only two sons (which begs me to wonder if he has any daughters?) he knew those two were close…and remembering the dialogue the two shared while sparring that Dek was saying “ I fight like our father!” But Kwei immediately changed it to “No. You fight like Dek!” Somewhat of a way to get Dek to stop idolizing his dad 💔 cause our sweet boy didn’t know what was to come after that spar battle 😭…

I hope the upcoming Badlands sequel comic shows us at the end how Njhorr gave Kwei the order and what was first said about it….i bet he tried to reason with his dad about it too….referencing the image above now, I find it very endearing that Kwei kept that toy and brought it with him for this outing as a reminder of what his younger brother did for him. He protected Kwei from that explosive without a second thought, and he didn’t think much of it to the point he just said “oh yeah I lost a tusk” but Kwei emphasized that “you saved me, you PROTECTED me” already seeing such potential in Dek than the others did. I don’t think that kind of behavior is common for their kind, and that’s why Kwei sacrificed his life for him since that’s where his honor lies.

The rough shoulder pat being a reference to the yautja greeting we see in the original broken tusk comics ❤️ I really enjoyed those few moments we saw of Kwei acting as a big brother by smack his hand and stuff 😭❤️ and Dek getting worked up about it, so silly…

I also thought it was neat that Kwei said the same line that Narus brother told her in Prey to “Bring it home”….the parallels…

I FINALLY WATCHED PREDATOR BADLANDS

(Spoilers below!!) just gonna ramble my lil yautja fan heart out…

That intro sequence….the first 10 minutes of the movie was everything I wanted to see…after SO MANY YEARS..

We finally see more of yautja prime instead of just a shot of it….words can not describe how happy I was seeing Dek and Kwei talk and spar with one another…seeing their relationship as brothers was so adorable to me.

(What is it with me n falling for men that are destined for death 💀) anyways-

FUCK NJHORR FOR THAT SCENE YALL KNOW THE ONE. THE FACT HE TOLD HIM TO KILL OFF HIS BROTHER IN HIS SLEEP?!? LIKE WHERES THE HONOR IN THAT?!? yalls missions are already deadly as hell!! Why was it so hard to let him go off on one without having to get in a big fight that costed a life?!! (The way Dek sounded so scared in that scene 💔)

…..anger aside, that definitely was the fuel that would set Deks soul ablaze to overcome his future challenges…

The way Dek actually meets Thia was so funny I genuinely loved her as a character she’s such a delight. Seeing the banter between the duo was so special, personally I don’t see any romantic feelings between the two but I do see a STRONG friendship, like for sure that’s his family now.

Seeing the creatures of Ganna? (can’t remember the planets name) was so freaking cool, for sure earning its title of “The deadliest planet” THE WAY EVERYTHING ADAPTED TO BEING SO HOSTILE IS CRAZY an explosive bug?!?$? The hell?!?! So freaking sick.

I honestly was surprised that Bud turned out to be very essential to the plot….i was rly worried she was just comic relief but holy shit she’s gonna grow up to be so huge 😭 that’s a sick as companion to have for sure

ALSO THE WAY I WAS KINDA RIGHT ABOUT THIA BETRAYING DEK?!? like she for sure didn’t mean it to be that bad…but it’s the way both used each other for something and it coming to bite them in the ass later…

Thankfully Thias sister was of course so much worse that it made the two bond again and repair the broken trust 😭💀 Buds poor mom though…rip my lady 🥀

There’s so much little things I can go on about but AUGHH I enjoyed the film overall! Personally I think there was a few too many comic relief scenes like literally I could have done with just one less. As well as the idea of Dek having his own clan of outcasts? I just hope more yautja join them and not other species! Then it’d just feel guardians of the galaxy…

That’s my only gripe with it! everything else was perfect. Hearing Dek and his family talk was so lovely. Their language sounds so cool… I can’t wait for them to drop the whole list of phrases and words…

Now the thing that really made the whole movie for me was the very end…

THE GIANT INTIMIDATING SHIP?!? THE WAY THIA SAYS “Oh more friends??” And DEK SHUTTERS A LIL AND SAYS “No….its my mother” LIKE GRAHHHH FINALLY WE MIGHT GET A SEQUEL AND SEE FEMALE YAUTJAS AND SO FAR ITS SETTING UP THEIR INTIMIDATING AURA JUST RIGHT we haven’t seen her yet BUT MAN I HOPE WE CAN SOON…

Does your rock star Freddy or space Freddy experience discrimination or are feared for being a bear/apex predator? How is his species treated in general? how is his relationship with Bonnie seen by the public?

An interesting question!

For both AUs I’d say no matter what it’d be hard to not face a bit of discrimination at some point in their lives.

Being a 7ft+ anthropomorphic Kodiak I’d say you’d turn heads for multiple reasons, maybe that’s why Freddy does his best to look and act super friendly when you first meet him. (This fear of apex’s is something my Space Monty would unfortunately deal with in his story)

In space AU I’d see it being less of an issue for the relationship aspect since….its space…anyone can hook up with anything (tho I bet many people would still find it weird ) and it also doesn’t help that Fronnie in space AU is a slow burn…so nobody knows they like each other and neither do they! (Mostly cap 💀)

But for Rockstar AU…that feels like something you’d see on some gossip magazine of rumors that the two might have a thing for each other and definitely I can see the media handling that well (sarcasm)

I struggle with having multiple ideas at once and some ideas just never get finished and collect dust, so I’ll share what I have! maybe someone will wanna finish this cute/sad lil comic :D (More doodles and rest of story below)

I really looooove your space au and the way you draw the glamrocks in general!!!

It's like I feel like a kid in a candy store whenever I see your art lol.

Hehe space AU is starting to shape into a cohesive story…one that I’m getting more confident in starting a lil tick tock project for…

Anyways I appreciate the support I’ve received thus far 🥰

UNFORTUNATELY….i am the worst at giving advice, I use procreate as my digital art program! So in terms of tips n tricks there’s a lot of helpful YouTube tutorials out there that can give a more in-depth explanation than I can :’D

Art wise…well that depends! I also REALLY suck at doing tutorials but for those starting out on their art journey I will always recommend studying real life pictures of people in poses and study their form/line of action just doing rough shapes to get the basic idea out nothing fancy. The more practice the better! Same with face studies, once you have a basic understanding of anatomy you can apply these techniques on anything (giving and animatronic a dynamic pose or making a yautja have a human expression)

Most importantly tho I told my younger sibling this when she started out on her art journey is to study color theory! I never did and I still struggle with that 💀 it’s not a necessity to make killer art but if you wanna add some color, watching vids on how to shade a few things wouldn’t hurt. that’s all I can think of really! Luckily for many new artists we’ve got a lot of new resources now to go and learn new art skills

So ye good luck on your journey! Take it slow and most importantly remember to just keep making it fun for yourself! Don’t wanna stress about something looking right the first time, as long as you get a rough idea out you can build from there.

"Your true colors"

[pretty sure this idea has been done before but I wanna give it a shot sksksksk]

You and your yautja mate were visiting a tech savvy friend who had called you unexpectedly this morning.

(3am to be exact) your mate wasn't to pleased about this since it ruined your perfect sleep together.

But they had called you in for good reason! You see your tech savvy friend has been working alongside other yautja technicians and together they have developed a new vision setting capable of giving yautja partners "ooman vision!!"

Since your friends with the techs you two were given first rights to test it!

Your yautja mate clicks in hesitation to being set up as a guinea pig...but for the chance to see the world through your eyes??? Worth any risk.

Since the bio mask feature is in its testing phase it still has a lot of wires connected to it and after proper application...your mate looked like the inside of a computer monitor (you couldn't help but snicker a little as to how funny they looked)

Tech: Systems running.... synchronizing bio helms infrared settings to the new update...and we should be clear! How's it looking [insert yautja mates name] ???

Tech: can you see us???

Your mate takes a moment to focus their eyes to the new flash of colors...a bit more irritating since they never had to perceive this much detail before.

Soon enough they were taking in the view of the room they were in and started to look down at themselves, realizing this is how their skin color looked to you.

You couldn't contain your excitement and proceeded to rush your way to them! "How do you like it love?!"

They turned their heads to you immediately and they got up so fast the tech almost got yanked to the floor while carrying the wires that were attached to the mask 🤭

Tech: WOAH EASY THERE!! these wires are delicate!!!

Your mate grabbed your arms and all you could hear were cute purrs mixed in with happy clicks! "Your...colors!!"...their so... beautiful!!!

You couldn't help but get a bit teary eyed at their tender expression (even if they were wearing a mask)

The way they tilted their head, the way they began to coo at you and marvel at your unique beauty...

They gently cupped your face and took their time to take in all the details they couldn't see on you before!!

(oh my how they wish they could see more of you in a private setting...)

You melted into their touch and showed them any tattoos or markings you had so they could see it how it was meant to be seen! Afterwards you heard the tech drag something into the room.

Tech: figured you'd like to get a good look at yourself in full view! (They've brought in a large mirror)

You pulled your mate closer towards the mirror, "I'm so happy you can finally see all of your pretty skin patterns the way I've always been able too [insert mates name] ♥️"

Tech: I'm confident that I can get this finalized and installed permanently since testing has gone so much better than I hoped for, so this won't be the last time you'll get to see like this!

You thanked your friend for this amazing opportunity, and you turned back to your mate and the two of you continued to look at yourselves (well you were mostly looking at your mates reaction)

They were staring at you as well, (you were starting to blush a bit) Do you...like how I look?

Your mate turned to face you, "My ooman....you were appealing to me even in the darkest shades of red and black..."

"Your true colors are even more breath taking than before..♥️"

I like to think Bonnie often goes off on his guitar during live performances (leaning towards it sounding like heavy metal) n often forgets he's playing for children LMAO

The kids love it regardless but the gangs like "dude again?" His longest solo was like a good 3 minutes...

He craves to have artistic freedom, I'm assuming the rest do as well tbh

Imagine hearing Freddy practicing his vocals, since we see chica shredding her guitar in her spare time I wonder if he dose the same?

I bet Freddy also likes to help whichever staff member is doing heavy lifting n he sees them struggling with the cargo n just goes "Oh please it's the least I can do! You all do so much for us, I wouldn't want you to hurt yourselves."

Also likes to help because Freddy has trouble just doing nothing...he needs to be doing something!

Or else he gets a bit antsy

Which is why he loves conversing n little tasks!

Bonnie calls the people closest to him "Carrot cake" bc he loves it sm and he loves them sm

In terms of the OG Trio I see chica being the one they protect the most like that's their baby sister to them 🥺♥️

Side note that it's a shame we don't have enough interactions between chica n Freddy in the game...

Like I wanna know if their just as close to each other as Freddy and Bonnie were

Bonnie gets excited hearing stories that the staff members tell him (if he's friends with em) about the outside world...

He LOVE'S it when they share their favorite music with him! He likes to analyze the guitar solos n usually that sneaks into the next concert hehe

He wants to go outside so bad...he often looks outside any windows and wishes he could just step outside for a bit...

This is also something I think the rest have in common.

They are happy working with the kids! They love their job! They would just like to feel the sun n quite literally touch grass...at least once!

Going back to Bonnie loving carrot cake he dose actually have a slight problem with it similar to chica...just don't leave your slice unattended with him, like a magic trick it'll disappear ✨

I like to think Bonnie originally didn't have eye liner but he saw one of the staff members have some on and he just told them "I want that! Can you put that on me?!" And ever since then it's been a part of his iconic look

Freddy laughs to hard at simple jokes like dad jokes kill him, which is why when he tells them sometimes he can't finish the joke 💀

His laugh is so cute n contagious 😭♥️

Everyone groans but they laugh at Freddy's reaction anyways

Bonnie's laugh is dorky, he snorts on occasion and the others call him out n he gets embarrassed

All in good fun of course!

If Bonnie were to blush I like to imagine that his whole face goes red like you can always tell when he's flustered hehe

Honestly I believe Freddy has that classy rizz, like he's such a gentleman, he'd court you properly is all I'm saying

As for Bonnie he's flirty, if he likes you he'll be teasing you a lot

He likes to bully his crush a tiny bit by making em all flustered, and yes he challenges you to bowling quite often!

It's his favorite bonding activity what can you do

He's such a good teacher for bowling too! Has to be for the kiddos of course!

All in all these boys have a heart of gold

They'll inspire you in some way n leave you feeling happy! And you do the same for them! Their still learning how to modify their hugging power tho!
