Gonna ramble about more predator badland things below 🥰 mostly about Dek and Kwei

The more I remember the intro to the movie the more sad I get remembering Kwei’s behavior…

Since we now know that before the sparring match began he was already tasked to cull his brother one way or another.

Aside from being Njhorr’s only two sons (which begs me to wonder if he has any daughters?) he knew those two were close…and remembering the dialogue the two shared while sparring that Dek was saying “ I fight like our father!” But Kwei immediately changed it to “No. You fight like Dek!” Somewhat of a way to get Dek to stop idolizing his dad 💔 cause our sweet boy didn’t know what was to come after that spar battle 😭…

I hope the upcoming Badlands sequel comic shows us at the end how Njhorr gave Kwei the order and what was first said about it….i bet he tried to reason with his dad about it too….referencing the image above now, I find it very endearing that Kwei kept that toy and brought it with him for this outing as a reminder of what his younger brother did for him. He protected Kwei from that explosive without a second thought, and he didn’t think much of it to the point he just said “oh yeah I lost a tusk” but Kwei emphasized that “you saved me, you PROTECTED me” already seeing such potential in Dek than the others did. I don’t think that kind of behavior is common for their kind, and that’s why Kwei sacrificed his life for him since that’s where his honor lies.

The rough shoulder pat being a reference to the yautja greeting we see in the original broken tusk comics ❤️ I really enjoyed those few moments we saw of Kwei acting as a big brother by smack his hand and stuff 😭❤️ and Dek getting worked up about it, so silly…

I also thought it was neat that Kwei said the same line that Narus brother told her in Prey to “Bring it home”….the parallels…

The Frames I Hate the Most

Ok real talk? I hate bricks.

What are bricks you ask? Bricks are players on your team that sit there and do nothing significant over the course of the entire mission.

Theoretically, in a game like Warframe, where there are over 40+ playable characters with 4 powers each, there shouldn’t be ANY bricks whatsoever, and yet there are frames that people play just because they survive and nothing else.

Now, a frame can be immortal and still provide useful utility for the team. That is not what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about the ones that literally do nothing.

The WORST offender is Inaros. Many people play him just for his ridiculous health pool and that’s it. They hardly ever use any of his abilities, which by the way are tremendously useful in steel path. I have never once seen an Inaros on my team and thought highly of it.

Wukong, Rhino, and Nidus in my eyes are half-bricks, only because the players behind them usually know about the buffs they provide. In Wukong’s case, he does have a clone and some pretty decent damage up his sleeve. Their immortality requiring a little more effort is nothing that I mind at all.

I FINALLY WATCHED PREDATOR BADLANDS

(Spoilers below!!) just gonna ramble my lil yautja fan heart out…

That intro sequence….the first 10 minutes of the movie was everything I wanted to see…after SO MANY YEARS..

We finally see more of yautja prime instead of just a shot of it….words can not describe how happy I was seeing Dek and Kwei talk and spar with one another…seeing their relationship as brothers was so adorable to me.

(What is it with me n falling for men that are destined for death 💀) anyways-

FUCK NJHORR FOR THAT SCENE YALL KNOW THE ONE. THE FACT HE TOLD HIM TO KILL OFF HIS BROTHER IN HIS SLEEP?!? LIKE WHERES THE HONOR IN THAT?!? yalls missions are already deadly as hell!! Why was it so hard to let him go off on one without having to get in a big fight that costed a life?!! (The way Dek sounded so scared in that scene 💔)

…..anger aside, that definitely was the fuel that would set Deks soul ablaze to overcome his future challenges…

The way Dek actually meets Thia was so funny I genuinely loved her as a character she’s such a delight. Seeing the banter between the duo was so special, personally I don’t see any romantic feelings between the two but I do see a STRONG friendship, like for sure that’s his family now.

Seeing the creatures of Ganna? (can’t remember the planets name) was so freaking cool, for sure earning its title of “The deadliest planet” THE WAY EVERYTHING ADAPTED TO BEING SO HOSTILE IS CRAZY an explosive bug?!?$? The hell?!?! So freaking sick.

I honestly was surprised that Bud turned out to be very essential to the plot….i was rly worried she was just comic relief but holy shit she’s gonna grow up to be so huge 😭 that’s a sick as companion to have for sure

ALSO THE WAY I WAS KINDA RIGHT ABOUT THIA BETRAYING DEK?!? like she for sure didn’t mean it to be that bad…but it’s the way both used each other for something and it coming to bite them in the ass later…

Thankfully Thias sister was of course so much worse that it made the two bond again and repair the broken trust 😭💀 Buds poor mom though…rip my lady 🥀

There’s so much little things I can go on about but AUGHH I enjoyed the film overall! Personally I think there was a few too many comic relief scenes like literally I could have done with just one less. As well as the idea of Dek having his own clan of outcasts? I just hope more yautja join them and not other species! Then it’d just feel guardians of the galaxy…

That’s my only gripe with it! everything else was perfect. Hearing Dek and his family talk was so lovely. Their language sounds so cool… I can’t wait for them to drop the whole list of phrases and words…

Now the thing that really made the whole movie for me was the very end…

THE GIANT INTIMIDATING SHIP?!? THE WAY THIA SAYS “Oh more friends??” And DEK SHUTTERS A LIL AND SAYS “No….its my mother” LIKE GRAHHHH FINALLY WE MIGHT GET A SEQUEL AND SEE FEMALE YAUTJAS AND SO FAR ITS SETTING UP THEIR INTIMIDATING AURA JUST RIGHT we haven’t seen her yet BUT MAN I HOPE WE CAN SOON…

There’s a lot from the trailer I could talk about BUT imma just go over two things bc I’m lazy

THIS SCENE IN PARTICULAR HEHEHEHEH

I LOVED IT the way he picks up the synthetic and treats it as such is so funny to me and I feel so sorry for her that for a majority of the time she’s gonna deal with his silent ass 💀😭 language barrier aside his kind just isn’t known for chit chat and will act in a straightforward manner.

But she appears to have a sense of humor which is good! Since it looks like she manages to convince him to take her with him (I can’t wait to see how that plays out) also the way she fights?!? Oh my god???!!?! Even with just half a torso she’s a menace!! I can’t wait to see Deks reaction to her fighting…

The way Dek is looking more badass each frame is insane to me, I think my hunch was right in seeing that his brother potentially sacrifices himself to save Dek??? At least that’s what it looked like to me 🥺 I hope he gets his revenge if that was the case…

AHHHH AND THIS PART I LOVE IT THE MOST

YEAH KING YOU ARE PREY TO NONE!!! OUGH

I hope he’s talking to the yautjas that did him dirty so much to look forward too in this movie and the fact it’s gonna lead to more being made is just icing on the cake man….

Man is it good to be a long time yautja fan…

and finally NEVER bother my friends with asks or questions about my AU or ocs expecting to get an answer from them when you’ve already asked me a similar question. I have my reasons for not answering them at that moment. I find it disrespectful to them that you’d waste their time about someone else’s AU instead of asking them about their own. They’ve each got their own unique and beautiful worlds that deserve all the love.

PREDATOR KILLER OF KILLERS RANT/MOSTLY PRAISING YA KNOW

TW WILL TALK ABOUT SPOILERS!

I don’t even know where to begin ohhh my god…

The first (at least publicly released) animated yautja movie of its series and oh. My. God.

Was that worth the wait….

I’ll try my best to describe in words how happy this film made me. As someone who’s been a fan of the predator franchise since I was 4 YEARS OLD

This was everything to me.

The art. The story. The characters. The music.

The atmosphere it set up!!! Ohhh man I can definitely see more films be made like this for the series…

Ursa….this beast of a woman I truly love how they followed each “tribes” own codes of honor and they acted and fought accordingly to their beliefs and ways.

Rip Anders, her son unfortunately caught in that situation but at least he died with honor. Hopefully his mom will join him in Valhalla someday.

I’m still iffy about these types of yautja (mostly bc 2018 left a bad taste in my mouth) if this was a female yautja I’d have less issues with it. (Personal preference ofc)

but yes they were very badass and seeing them get outsmarted by Ursa was so funny. holy hell can that woman pack a punch with her shield!! Watching her fight got me so fired up she was inspiring.

I really enjoyed that this story was mostly silent that not much needed to be said bc the storytelling was so good with just visuals alone! This classic tale of two brothers being forced to turn again one another to claim the throne. And yet when the extraterrestrial threat came out of the blue to fight the both of them, they both agreed to fight the creature together.

This yautja in particular…I honestly still can’t tell if this is a yautja female??? CUZ GOD I HOPE SHE IS, her figure looks feminine but i haven’t seen a confirmation yet. Either way her battle was my favorite and it’s cool she is one of the skins available on hunting grounds along with the Viking yautja.

This guy was awesome (as a fellow Mexican I was rooting for him the most LMAO) bro was trying really hard to communicate with the other humans so bad 😭 the language barriers were funny to see.

Now this is where my main issues lie with the movie…

I honestly don’t know how I feel about the yautja aerial dog fight. I have issues as what makes it honorable in the yautja code. Bc dude was invisible most of the time taking out the fleet and only when like 5 or less was in the sky he uncloaked given his advanced weaponry???

I don’t really know how to feel about it. I think he should have uncloaked earlier. But overall the fighting sequence was intense and entertaining to watch!

THE LAST BATTLE THIS SCENE IN PARTICULAR

Ohhhh I cried like a little bitch the fact THEY WERE TALKING IN THEIR OWN LANGUAGE AND CHANTING AS WELL oh I was geeking out

I hope the full language drops some day bc my ass is gonna learn how to speak it 😭 the whole ending was amazing and I can’t wait to see if a sequel comes out of it. AND ALSO THAT ENDING EASTER EGG?!?!? Wow.

I wonder what will come out of that situation….
