limbo is Nothing limbo defined so much by being nothing he has no purpose specifically because his purpose is to be the lesser rival meant to make the protagonist shine more but he can't be anything he cant become a beast to overcome humanity specifically because beasts are trials that humanity is meant to overcome so he cannot even make himself a bigger failure but he doesn't curse humanity either because he has no inherent ill will towards them because failing is the thing hes best at limbo is like if oberons lie curse was a person oberon is cursed to have all his actions and words become a lie not in them being falsehoods but because they lack meaning and purpose limbo is That but shaped like a person because he cant be anything without the other half he is meant to be a shadow too when limbo gives you curses in his valentines its love because he literally cant give anything else he cant love he cant hate he cant anything without the defined outline of being the greatest failure and that in itself is a constantly proving failure limbo gives you curses because that Is his love because he cant express love in any other way except by being an evil failure him missing the point and failing in the gift exchange Is The Point because its ultimately nothing and thats the only thing he can do hes stuck in a literal limbo of being the most capable failure ever who yearns not for love but for an understanding of what it means to love but he cant sink to hell on his own he can only follow you
