I’ve said this three times this week so I should say it here too:
I’m an anthropologist because it means I get to be a Professional Nosy Person.

It’s amazing how much you can get done if you just assume that a solution exists and that you only need to find it.
In my classes, it’s rare that I have multiple students with the same name. So it’s weird when I notice a lot of Isabellas on the roster this year.
And then it hits me:
TWILIGHT came out 18-21 years ago.
I’m getting the Twilight babies in my class
Student class feedback: "I wish the modules opened as soon as you completed the last one so I can get ahead, instead of each week".
Me, writing and recording the lectures two days before the week opens: "I'll keep that in mind for next time..."
When they say academics have a dry sense of humor, they mean me.
In a report: The femur appears Sus.
It was a pig femur (Sus scrofa).
Science is spending an entire day at the museum opening, and managing to meet a person who loves Paranormal Home Inspectors as much as you do thanks to a talk Q&A.
So I'm 100% going to burn myself out SO BAD with teaching this schedule, but it fills my cup more than I anticipated. I miss classrooms. I miss students. I miss talking for 90 minutes straight about things! It is weirdly easier than I remember!
I have a student coming to office hours next week because she wants to be a paleoanthropologist and didn't realize someone from [Community College] could do that until she saw that I did.
This semester is going to be the death of me and my spirit will be so full.
I’ve committed to teaching a brand new online summer class. Starting in two weeks.
I have to write my fall class this summer too. While working 40 hour weeks and volunteering weekends at least through June.
I’m insane.
