I think geography is relevant in this discussion. I don't consider myself white necessarily despite being pretty pale and definitely white-passing, because I grew up in Europe and have experienced antisemitism. And in Europe, largely, I was never considered white. A few years ago however I moved to the States, and here I AM considered white.
