So... the canary that the pet store assured me was male just laid an egg.
Yep.
Anyway, my sweet little Limón is now Limona. Say hello all over again!
She’d been tearing the paper at the bottom of her cage, so I got her some shredded paper on a bamboo perch to shred instead, but then she was stuffing it into her food dish, so... I put in a nest. Things went from there.
Don’t worry, I ordered dummy eggs to keep her from continuing to lay. I’ll have to change up her diet a little to include more protein and calcium. I already put in a second cuttlebone for calcium and I already have egg food I’m going to start her on tomorrow.
