behind the scenes in episode 2 (happy pride)
[ID: A Link Click meme redraw. Lu Guang looks on while Qiao Ling happily thwaps an envelope against a surprised Cheng Xiaoshi's chest and says, "It's pride month, Cheng Xiaoshi. You know what that means." Cheng Xiaoshi replies, "Huh. What."
He confusedly asks, "Do you want us to take like. Gay clients?? What." Qiao Ling smiles smugly and does not reply while Lu Guang looks consideringly at Yu Xia and Lin Zhen happily sharing a bowl of noodles. End ID]
do you think this mission happened in the previous timeline(s)?
yes, and everything was exactly the same
yes, but cxs acted different/changed something
yes, but lg acted different/changed something
yes, but something else affected it
nope
this one's a bit more straightforward, but I still wanted to ask if we think anything changed/who or what changed it, so I added those options too. As always, feel free to share your thoughts!! I'll put some of mine down here ↓
Today I rewatched link click's first two chapters and damn, the noodles lesbians are really the only characters on this show who gets to be happy
waves hiii. in the can i buy a vowel vc. can i ask for what you're planning wrt noodle shop lesbians. also i think i know what the ytmk abbreviation stands for and know *just* enough abt jjk to go. eyesemoji. but feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. (-kavi)
hi hello kavi the honest answer is I have. a lot of vibes. it's supposed to be for the march challenge. which I am not doing anymore (but will complete the fic separately later). basically the idea given the prompt is like. lin zhen and yu xia at four(?) places that defined their relationship. I think my plan was their dorm room, the noodle shop when it first opened, the noodle shop After yu xia went a little. gestures. yeah. and then the shop lin zhen set up after leaving. yeah <3 one fun little line in my head though:
Rage clouds any rational thought Yu Xia could have, and it's overlaid with: it's not fair.
She's saying all the wrong things, and she can't help it, because she's always felt anger and hurt dialed up to a hundred—never taught to dial it down. It's thick in her throat, the betrayal.
ooh boy. yes it means yuutamaki!! I opened the doc last night for the jjk rarepair fest and then passed out lol. essentially: link click au, maki as the guidance and yuuta as the one who dives back, but it's also yuuta who's trying to save her. it felt like that made the most sense to me that way given their personalities; yuuta and his rage when geto hurt maki, inumaki, and panda, etc.
technically the perfect preparation arc (where maki went haywire) and the culling games arc should dictate that maki be the one doing so, but the mental image of maki planning murder on sukuna for the equivalent of "you look tasty" while yuuta flails between utter confusion and insane rage and bloodlust was too funny to pass up really. yeah I make such great narrative choices. this will go so well.
ty for the ask 💞💞
I love s1e2 because it's the only episode that completely stands alone with no connections to other episodes or the larger plot but I also believe that it contains some of the most important themetic elements for the entire show. Like this line here which hits differently with the context of s2e12.
Feveruary Day 22: 'Our date can wait! You're far more important
Noodle lesbians my beloveds
In the world of a growing business, some things were unavoidable. Long hours, short breaks, battles with balance sheets, demands from investors. Their little noodle shop wasn’t just a small store in a sea of them anymore. They had built something special – being busy was a good thing. “I can’t move anymore,” Yu Xia groaned from the couch, arm over her eyes. “I know we have to go, but my head is killing me.” “Don’t worry about it. Our date can wait! You’re far more important,” Lin Zhen said with a gentle smile. They would find time for themselves eventually...
