Oh, while we’re here, I have a pet peeve? “Marlon”’s “sports culture is deeply conservative, [it] tells society that winners work hard and losers are lazy” is such a bad take. It made me feel bad for Jonas, what did he do to deserve the variations on him bringing up such half-baked ideas! Maybe it was on purpose to show him as a teen who’s political but with kind of a shallow understanding but it feels like a low blow to not even give him a good point when they’re pretty easy to find. They couldn’t at least have “Marlon” say, “why do sports need a fundraiser, I don’t want to go give them ten bucks when they already get the majority of the funding?” That’s still something that could get a “dude, chill” response without him being super annoying, lol.
