OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE ‘LINEAGE’ PRODUCTION TEAM
In the last 24 hours, we have been made aware that the CW made the announcement of a production in “development” from the creators of ‘Jane The Virgin’ that is based on the book “The Archived” by V.E. Schwab, which is apparently a story about two sisters who hunt ghosts… one of which is named “Bex.” As you know, the ‘Lineage’ crew has been hard at work to create a ‘Supernatural’ fan-based spin-off for quite some time and had officially announced the show with the @Lineage_Series Twitter account that was created in February of 2019. The cast and crew are now in the process of production, which includes casting and filming. Our Public Relations Team is working to sort out this situation so that we can move forward as planned: as a series for the fans, by the fans, and of the fans for the ‘Supernatural/Lineage’ Family! While it sounds like the two shows have the same storyline, we can assure you that they are in no way, shape, or form related and we had no prior knowledge of ‘The Archived’ or even of the YA books it was based on.
In the meantime, we will be reading through the books ‘The Archived’ is based on so that we can make any necessary changes so that we do not step on anyone’s toes. However, please note that ‘Lineage’ has been in development before ‘The Archived’ was ever mentioned and ‘Lineage’ has been public through the majority of 2019 via Social Media. The ‘Lineage’ Family will be in Burbank, CA on October 19th and 20th 2019 for the ‘Supernatural’ Giving Back Tour to meet the fandom and hold a viewing of the official trailer during the convention. We appreciate the support we have seen so far from the fans and in all honesty can say that this issue with the CW’s announcement is just a small bump in the road so far, and we look forward to taking you on this journey with us as we look to the road ahead.
