Status report: I had been looking forward to this.
When I introduced the Forryn in DARKCHILDE (Book 2 in my THE DARKENED series), I had a feeling that I would want to explore them a little bit more. They were a great plot twist in a dystopian world full of Nosferatu (vampires), witches (with their magicks), and hunters.
But they had been hidden.
There were packs named after zodiac signs. There were rules. There was a rite of passage period. Their women were strong, but submissive for the most part. They may have urges, but they could only mate with the opposite sex. They were technology savvy. And as I was reminded the other day...magicks did not work on them.
They were basically werewolves, but I wanted them to be as different as I could make them. And I left enough wiggle room to explore for myself what it would be like if you lived under the radar for centuries. After all Forryn aged slower than the normal human, BUT they did age. They were also the main villains in my forthcoming novel DARKENED TABULA.
