I breathe in good vibes and out to you for your healings, I wish nothing but the goods for you. I will not change myself to your standards and I will not back down. This world, we called “society” has been hard for us all. I am here to create a better place that provides accessibility to our future Deaf children. A place to say that they can say, “I’m a proud Deaf person who can do anything equally.” And encouraging them to follow their dreams, whether it’s skating, surfing, or becoming a doctor. Silence Board Shop is one of many places for them. Growing up for me, I had ton of opportunities. Better than most, maybe? But I was taught to Sign, to speak and get to wear hearing aids. I love wearing my hearing aids, it’s to hear the sounds of the rain pouring, and all varies of music. One of many passions. But I will never degrade myself or anyone, so they can meet your standards. Ever think how odd and sort of counterproductive languages are? I mean not spoken word but the idea of varying languages to learn separately. In America we don't learn English like we learn other languages. We learn new words all the time. In fact we learn words that mean the exact same thing as other words we already know. Synonyms. Why treat all languages separately when you can just have the mindset that there is only one language? And all the words are just other words for the same thing. It makes sense that this would reduce racism and inequality drastically. Then when you're sitting in the McDonalds Playplace and there's some family on the other side speaking some or another language you'll just think they're talking, whether you know or not what they're saying. When people might say that this would reduce culture somehow, you can just look at roots. We acknowledge that words are Latin in origin in English so why can't we just say that about every word from every language.
