The fact that it’s not enough to be good at something any more is getting me rn. Want a book deal? You’ll need a following and a booktok page to get looked at. Want a job? What really sets you apart from the crowd is a manicured LinkedIn page. I don’t WANT to be an influencer, I don’t want to make manicured posts about private milestones. But apparently that’s the only way to get to be successful at anything in the circle of hell we call applying for shit
