I'm not sure if this has been asked already, but... how do you think the chocobros would react to finding out they all like the same person? Would any of them be open to polyamory?
Hi Anon, thanks for the ask!
See the Chocobros rejecting somebody who likes all four of them here.
As for how they’d react to sharing a crush:
Noctis is the one to finally bring it up in conversation and address the elephant in the room.
Prompto immediately defers to the other three and stops his pursuit if they’re in the game.
Gladio is the most likely to make a first move on their shared crush, lets the others know if he’s already been rejected.
Ignis acts like he usually does–provides a voice of reason, shoves his feelings down, and reminds Noct of his betrothal (if that is present in this case).
Given the fact they’re all in Crownsguard (and for 3 of the 4, fairly high ranked officials/figures), their relationships tend to be somewhat public. As polyamory isn’t discussed or shown in FFXV, I assume the general populous adopts current attitudes towards polyamory like we see in this world…which is to say, they might shrug it off in private but would gossip/judge a public figure fairly harshly for it. This would be a fairly major deterrent.
Taking that away from the equation, you also have these complicating factors:
Noctis being involved with somebody who can bear children, and having them involved with somebody else could throw the line of succession into question
Prompto is horribly insecure, and likely wouldn’t fare well in a poly relationship because he chokes down his feelings for the sake of group cohesion
Gladio would try to communicate the best he could, but as a character he appears to be very protective of relationships/boundaries and would not do well if he was not a (the?) primary partner
First, he barely has enough time for one partner, much less multiple, and
Secondly, if his partner had other partners, he would likely become jealous of the time their other partner could devote to them
In short: Gladio is the most open to it, Ignis is the most vocally against it, Prompto does the worst with it, and Noct’s princely status strikes again. I would say it is rather improbable, but not impossible, in the FFXV world as it stands in-game.
