"Erosion" (Ерозия) 🌧️🏰 There’s a unique magic in capturing the relentless passage of time through traditional printmaking. Here is my latest colored linocut print, featuring a weathered, ruined tower standing strong against heavy, stylized rain.
Because I hand-color these prints, this is an Edition Variable (E.V.). That means no two prints in the world are exactly alike—each one has its own unique watercolor atmosphere! This specific piece is the final pull of a very limited run: 5/5 E.V. 🖌️
For this artwork, I really wanted the textures of the landscape and the mood of the storm to speak for themselves. Getting those crisp, bold black lines is everything, so I used deep, rich Lefranc and Bourgeois oil-based ink. It’s printed and carefully painted on premium Arches watercolor handmade paper (100% cotton, 300gr)—the texture and weight of this paper hold the vibrant colors and the heavy ink perfectly! 🎨✨
