Houston Rockets vs Brooklyn Nets - My Experience
When i first got off the train in Brooklyn and made my way up the stairs, there it was, the Barclays Center. It was incredible and i caught myself standing outside for almost 5 minutes just enjoying the view and taking pictures.
When i walked inside i heard music and i looked all around the arena. Everything was gorgeous and state of the art. I also saw Jay-Z sitting next to P.J. Carlesimo on the Nets bench.
I went to my seat and saw Carlos Delfino and James harden warming up.
And by the tunnel, i saw something amazing. People dressed in Lin gear from Houston, New York, Golden State, and even Harvard! All waiting for him to come onto the court. There were so many Lin fans but i kind expected this because it was New York.
I tried to get an autograph but it didn't happen. Instead I returned to my seat and took pictures from where i was. I watched the Rockets warm up and Jeremy even dunked! Patrick Beverly also dunked a few times.
I saw Jeremy’s little “dance step” or whatever you guys want to call that lol.
When the intros happened, it was surreal. The name Jeremy Lin was announced and the whole arena was in an uproar of cheers it was crazy! It's clear that Jeremy still has fans in New York. Also the bench players did that cute thing where they all jump up and down together while the starters go out.
Harden got into an argument with Keith Bogans and they both got a technical. It got so intense when they were fighting and it was a bench clearing brawl.
The game was very fast paced and Jeremy had a lot of great assists and the Nets got dunked on soo many times. Carlos Del3no was on fire and Patrick Beverly was also playing well but he got into a bit of foul trouble.
I saw everyone doing the three goggles and even the fans were doing it! I had to explain to my dad what it was and he thought it was funny.
I'm so happy the Rockets won. Its not the same as my experience in Houston was, but I actually enjoyed it a lot because it was an exciting game and the Rockets have gotten so much better. This was a great birthday gift and I hope I get to see Jeremy play again next season.
The final score was Rockets 106 Nets 96
I'll post the rest of the photos later. I just wanted this to tell a story. Please credit me if you use any of my photos. The last photo is form ESPN.com
