Storyteller Saturday! 💖 What would be your characters' ideal vacation getaways? Did they choose those places for the weather, for the views, for more technical reasons? What sort of activities would they do on this vacation? - All of Linsay has to put on a play. What sort of play is it, and who gets what roles?

Vacation spots with the main cast:

Gemma has never been on a vacation, or taken days off, or traveled at all, really. The Ladies think this is a travesty, but then they remember that she doesn’t necessarily have a social security number and can’t get a passport or a driver’s license and drop the subject. She’d love to go hiking up in the mountains, though. Or go to the Biosphere 2 and talk to the scientists responsible for it (fun fact: I know people who know people who built it and lived in it!). It is the LARGEST greenhouse in the world, so she’d be in heaven.

Mel would want to visit somewhere with a wide variety of animal life that she might have never seen before. South America, maybe, or Africa. Or scuba diving off Australia’s coast. Not only to study, which she does in her downtime anyway, but to (respectfully, of course) play with the animals and enjoy types of weather and environments she isn’t used to. She’d definitely want to visit smaller villages to see how they live their day-to-day, too!

Oz would want a very chill vacation. A week in a snowy ski lodge curled up by the fire with a hot toddy, cozy slippers, a floofy robe, and an audiobook (likely a Danielle Steel or Sarah Dessen, which he would never admit to enjoying so long as he lives you heard nothing).

Fred is a big ‘ole beach bum. It’s where he spent his honeymoon and he’s always wanted to go back. And, yes, he’s totally the type to wear clunky mandals, a stellar farmer tan, funky patterned board shorts, a floppy sun hat, big sunglasses, and a splat of white sunscreen on his nose, with a tropical fruity drink in his hand (that has a twisty straw and an umbrella, obviously).

A PLAY? Oh, no, you’ve brought out my inner theatre geek!

I’m not gonna make up a play for this one, since there are so many out there that I can mess with instead. And I already pseudo-wrote a musical, so…

I’m gonna go with an old classic: Neil Simon’s Fools. 

Mostly because I’ve seen it and my school put it on one time so I know it pretty well. And I think it’s funny to do a play about a stranger coming to a small town and falling in love and being clever with a cast that’s in a story about a stranger coming to a small town and falling in love and being clever.

I had to make new character names to fill in the cast, woo! Introducing Ethan Kelley, Sarah Lavendar, Jean Hollidae, and Horace Flaherty. 

Treena does everything but act because she thinks her casting choices are hilarious. And she gender-bent some of the roles, which makes it even better.

And EVERYONE does terrible Russian accents. It’s sort of a requirement.
