Pogoplug, cheap webserver

Well

Something pretty sweet happened at work today.

A portable 1TB hard drive dropped to 39.99! Yes a name brand harddrave 1tb at 40 bucks. Easy buy. I went and then purchase a pogoplug for $50. Easy NAS for under $100.

Now, the fun began. A pogoplug runs on the ARM architechture, which is a very small and mobile platform normally used for linux/ubuntu/android. Its essentially a full functioning computer for $50. Sure it only has small ram, but for my uses thats more then enough.

Next step. Get linux on it vs the stupid interface it has. Check after about 30 minutes.

Get full LAMP running. After about an hour I was able to get amp ruinning, which is Apache, MySQL and PHP. <<<< Means i have a webserver, with 1tb storage for under $100.

Best part of this, the pogoplug is VERY VERY energy efficient allowing me to running it 24/7 without directly interfering with my computers functions.

So yeah, new webserver for cheap.

See where Im going with this? Sorry its taken a week, but its been a busy one.

Özgür yazılımın bilindik isimlerinden Gnome'un yeni sürümü yayınlandı. 3.0 versiyonuyla malasef kullanıcıların isteklerini karşılayamayan yazılım ekibi, bu sefer daha fazla mesai yapmış.

Bir önceki sürüme göre daha fazla özen gösteilen 3.2'de 1.270 kişi yaklaşık 38.500 değişikliğe imza attı. Eleştiri yağmuruna tutulan birçok hata ve eksiklik giderilirken daha kararlı bir sürüm ortaya çıkarılmış. Ayrıntılar haberimizin devamında...

En büyük yeniliklerin başında, çevrimiçi profil özelliği "Gnome Online Accounts" geliyor. Bu sayede kullanıcı bilgileri online olarak depolanıp gerektiğinde sekronizasyonu da yapılabilecek.

Bulut sistemini de elden geçiren yetkililer, internet üzerindeki dosyalarını görmenizi sağlayan  uygulama ekledi. Fakat tüm bunlara rağmen köklü bir değişikliğin olduğunu söyleyemeyiz. 

Her ne kadar birçok hata ortadan kaldırılsa da, aslı beklenen yenilikler bir sonraki sürüm olan 3.4'e sarkmış gözüküyor.
