The funniest thing in the last interview is that previous memory lapse wasn’t from Sansa’s PoV, but from Arya’s. Everybody is unreliable narrator in ASoIaF, even its author!
Yeah, that’s why I elided the quote, I didn’t need it complicating the post and I’ve discussed this failure of GRRM’s before. ;) To be fair, he was prompted with a question by a fan who got the sword’s name and/or girls confused... so maybe that’s what messed him over? Or maybe GRRM intended to have Arya say “Lion’s Tooth” and Sansa say “Lion’s Paw”, but got them messed up and his editor didn’t catch it because she didn’t know he meant to do that? Or he didn’t yet have Elio/the wiki to factcheck that Joff’s sword was named Lion’s Tooth, not Paw? But yes, whatever happened, the fact that GRRM is also an unreliable narrator in this case is simply hilarious.
(I should check about this on the w.org wiki thread, they’ve recently added pages for listing errata in the books, and though unreliable narrators normally don’t count, this one is... complicated, lol.)
