For the past few months I have been absolutely obsessed with lip colors, especially liquid lipsticks. I love the way they apply on thick with one layer and then in seconds dry matte. They are also easily mixed with other colors, so you can create various colors with a few basic hues. They last longer too, not sure how but there are a few brands that will literally have you scrubbing your lips off at the end of the day. I’ve pretty much tried ever liquid lipstick brand out there. Here is my top 10 list of the lip brands/colors I am obsessed with now:
1. Sephora Cream Lipstain- African Violet. $14 ea. This color is a must have. It looks great on everyone. I was at Sephora with a few friends, all different complexions and we tried this lip and it looked great on each of us. This color was sold out for a while (I wanted to order for a friend) but not its back!
2. Dose of Colors Liquid Matte Lipstick- Purple Rain. $22. I ordered this off of amazon because I wanted to take advantage of my prime shipping. And I just love amazon, I was already ordering $12 brush sets and $10 blush palettes so why not order more lipstick.. anyways. This color is bold and bright and I love it. It also lasts all day.
3. Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick- Coven. $21 ea. I love this color. Its not a liquid lipstick because it doesn’t come in liquid. But its a lavender color and I purchased this because Mac was out of the Bao Bao lipstick and I thought this would be a great replacement. I enjoy the color but I must say I have to apply a few coats for a full coverage, high pigmented color.
4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick- Pure Hollywood. $20 ea. Top 5 no brainer. Alone this color is nice, ok but this lipstick is so easily mixed with other colors and lip liners. I’ve worn this color in so many ways, its worth the buy and worthy of their spot.
5. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick- Outlaw. $20 ea.This Red is such a must have Red in your collection. This is the color I’m wearing in my profile/header picture. I love this brand, it lasts all day, even after all of your munching and drinking.
6. Lime Crime Velvetine- Cashmere. $20 ea. This color is great year round, and it’s color you are not use to seeing. Also looks great with Macs Nightmoth lip-liner. Limecrime is an independent, self proclaimed vegan company based out of California. I know this company was under a lot of fire recently over credit/debit card scams. You can read more here if you wish but I ordered their products right before they became under fire and didn’t have a clue what was going on. When I found out, I reached out to Limecrime and asked to cancel my order due to all the drama around their company. They reassured me that the problem has been resolved, they are doing every thing humanly possible to resolve the issues, please allow us to earn your business,… blah blah. They ended up telling me that couldn’t cancel, my order was shipped. My order arrived, it did take a while which was annoying but I had no issues with information being leaked…well as far as I know. **Crossing Fingers** I recently go a few other items during there summer sale and I must say I was pleased with the products. Rave Velvetine is one that I received and loving right now. These smell great, they last all day, and if they are truly vegan, that’s a huge plus for me (no I’m not vegan, but when it comes to vanity, I rather my beauty products have natural based products. And their packaging is awesome!
7. Too Faced Melted Liquified Longwear Lipstick- Coral. $21 ea. This is a great go to color for summer and it lasts all day. I really enjoy the applicator to this lipstick, its a sponge top, applies very easily.
8. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream- Antwerp. $6 ea. This brand is no secret, its the go to brand for all of your make-up needs without weakening your pockets. Another popular color is Aub Dhabi, which is a nice nude. I purchased this lippie at Ulta.
9. La Girl Matte Pigment Gloss Matte- Dreamy. $3.99 ea. This the most BANG for your BUCK that you are going to fine. I was hip to this brand, after I purchased a lot of my liquid lipsticks but if I would have known, I would have purchased a few more of these instead of some others. They have a huge color selection. I purchased these brands at my local hair store for $3.99. This is the same brand that makes the ever so popular Pro HD Concealer.
10. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) Lip Tar Metallic Hollywood. $18 ea. I was super excited about this brand until I received my order and tried to squeeze the product out of the tube and got a runny clear substance. I looked it up why this was and I guess its normal as the liquid was seperating.That really turned me off because until this day it still separates and I have to shake and shake. None of my other liquid lipsticks does this. This is why its so low on the list and the reason why its even on here is because the metallic cover does go on top of colors nicely. I mostly but it in the center of my lips on top of the color I plan to wear. It goes well with most colors. I have other colors, and I rarely use them because I don’t have time to be shaking this product and applying hella coats. And I was really excited about this brand…oh well
That’s the list, and to think, there are so many more brands I haven’t tried: La Splash, Jeff Starr, Gerad, stila (I tried one color and returned it, they are usually out of stock of the Aria, the one I want to try)
