Concerning Lipius's Gender

mindbending ahead

OKAY SO I DID SOME DIGGING OF MY OWN

I asked SEVERAL koreans to look at the text regarding Lipius’s true gender and

The whole thing about Lipius and Loffy dating was just a rumor. To be precise the text says; "basically the elf looks so beautiful, it almost looks like a woman" "they say it’s just a rumor, not something that actually happened" as was suggested before, it seems the assumption that Lipius was female was made by the crew and even Loffy himself (or Loffy is extremely gay): Loffy even at says things like HEY DERE CUTIE and CMERE SWEETIE. 

However, Lipius was the guard for a female queen (most of the elven queen guards are male, like Yuvenciel and ritto); when she passed away, his telezia seemed to be fullfilled and so he wandered off to do as he pleased. 

So Lipius is most likely a male elf

Here's some alternatives though;

" it could be both. but i am guessing girl. cause it says loffy and lipius were lovers but it was a mistake. unless loffy is a gay hobo. it could be interpreted as if lipius was a girl then they just broke up. or if lipius is a guy then loffy didn’t know he was a guy"

In the end this was a conclusion drawn up by one of them "Lipius was a female, but Loffy was dating Lipius under the impression she was a male. When he found out Lipius was a girl, they broke up." Alternatively, assume Loffy is straight and that he dated Lipius thinking they were female, when they were in fact, male.

tl;dr: Assume Lipius is a trap and tricked Loffy into dating them for a brief period of time.

Okay kids time for clarification

I have noticed people were questioning China's voice acting choice for Lipius (12:07).

Me and certain someone did a bit of research, because we though that maybe in the original script Lipius was wrote as "Loffy's lover" and the translators for SEA and NA jumped conclusions and wrote "Loffy's girlfriend."

And it was true:

Korean =연인 Japanese and Chinese = 恋人

So we were like, "oh, seems like Lipius was a guy all along."

However, other lines debunked that quickly:

그 여잔 차가웠지만 아주 아름다웠거든

여잔 (yuh jan) = She

あいつは冷たい女だったけど、かなりの美人だったッス

あいつ (aitsu) = He (but can be she)

女 (onna) = Woman

美人 = (feminine) beauty

Someone else suggested that maybe a trans or a crossdresser and I was like "yeah one of those it's maybe the correct answer" but then I remembered that she probably has her voice overs already in the client.

Aaaaand this isn't exactly a girly-girl voice but it is undoubtedly a female voice and a female voice actor.

In conclusion: Yes, Lipius is a girl. However I hope that our fellow Chinese players give a warm welcome to Lipius, Loffy's MtoF trans girlfriend.

In some music and sound studio in China there is a voice acting director that probably got a big scold over this, and maybe some voice actor is unfortunately about to lose his recently acquired job.

Unless Shanda says "well whatever" and leave it like that.
