Lipnicure:yey or ney?

So recently Clio Professional released their new product called Lipnicure. Basically this is a manicure for the lips ;). It was said that this product is a polish for thelips which has different vivid matt colors to choose from. It was also said that they are extremely water proof that whatever you do, like drink, eat,kiss, it won’t ever come off! And of course smudge proof obviously. How to use it? Simply add light coats onyour lips, but never pucker up , just swipe thin coats, let it dry for a fewseconds, and voila! Your lips will be amazing. But here is the question…

Does it really do its job?

Well girls, the answer is YES! It does its job. Perfect isn’t it? Right now, most of you would say “this is the perfect lip product ever in history!” or “this works like magic!”. Well ladies… sorry to break it to you but if you think this is a magical product that you must have, well, you must know, like rumplestiltskin would say “all magic comes with a price”

Surely, you will love the color, love the packaging, love the scent (well maybe? For me I don’t mind) and love how well it looks good on pictures, but you may not love the formula. My dearest fabulous unicorns and kawaii potatoes, what you are to face with this product is the ultimate drying feeling you can ever imagine. It is matt but it doesn’t have to be so dry right? So this is really not good. Another thing is it cracks up and flakes up. Remember when I told you that only use thin coats of this product? It’s because if you put more it will flake a lot and it will be everywhere.

Now to tell you more of my experience with this product, first you guys should know that my lips are sensitive so my experience could be different from yours. But for me, this is how it goes… what I did is I experimented on how I should make myself feel more comfortable when using my lipnicure. I tried different thickness and thinness of coats, applied lipbalm or milky tints to lessen the dryness but gosh! It still flakes a lot, and leaves lots of flakes whenever I drink. The worst part is how amazingly it hurt my lips! My lips got so dried up that I even got allergic reactions because of this product.  (In which the symptoms are, itchiness, dry and chapped, and swelling) No Kidding! Until now it still haven’t completely healed yet and it’s been almost a week now since I last used it…

So what I think of this product, IT SUCKS! No offense to Clio, I know most of their products are really good, but not for this one. I’m giving it a rate of 2/10 for everything except for the formula.

Well thou there’s been a lot of ranting on this review (since I really am showing you guys how I hate this product for torturing me for almost a week with this duck lips) I hope you find this review helpful. Clio Lipnicure Review~

Hello everybody! 

First of all I would like to say that I feel really bad for delaying this review. I believe it will be almost 2 weeks since I posted a teaser for Clio Lipnicure review and I kept delaying the post because I was traveling again...  Well I can happily say that today’s post is about Clio Lipnicure in No.2 Nasty Pink! 

As the packaging says this product is “Manicure for the lips”. This lip product comes in 8 different colours and a high gloss top coat. The colour I own and I’m reviewing in this post is No.2 Nasty Pink (내스티핑크 2호). I recommend trying to find this product in store as I’ve seen that some websites are carrying it for an expensive price. The only down side to getting it from the store is that most of the colours were sold out! 

Back to the review. On the bottom of the product you have the information and the expiration date written. The expiration date is printed in black so my camera couldn’t pick it but if you try hard you can read it!

The bottle is about the size of Benefit’s lip tints maybe a little bigger. It has a very secure and tight twist off cap. Which makes it great to carry in your purse as it is a liquid lip product. The applicator is a curved sponge applicator type. The curve in the applicator makes it easy to apply the colour in gradation. 

The colour is very opaque and intense but it can be blended for gradation effect or for a more sheer colour effect. However you need to blend it out fast because once the products dries and sets it does not move anywhere. Even during white cup test it didn’t transfer. You can watch uses of this product and the white cup test in the video below.  

Lipnicure applies very creamy and soft but it sets to be matte. So I recommend exfoliating and moisturizing the lips prior to application of it. Also since it has a great waterproof and non-transfer feature it tends to dry the lips a bit and the matte finish emphasizes the chapped lips so exfoliation and moisturizing is a must prior to application! 

In the photo above I kept my hand under running water for about 15-30 seconds to show you how waterproof it is. I also swiped my hand across it and it didn’t move even a bit. While I was in the store I tried few colours on my hand and even though I wash my hands a lot during the day the tint stayed on for about 2-3 days. However this doesn’t mean that you can’t remove it. 

Later, I used cleansing oil to remove it from my hands but I was still left with a bit of streaks. However the second time I washed it with cleansing oil it was completely gone. It is a very long lasting product so if you need something that you don’t want to touch-up during the day I really recommend Lipnicure to you. However, you will need a very good make-up remover or cleansing oil :)

This particular colour reminds me so much of the flower in the photo above. As it is hard to pick up the very true colour with camera and different lighting sources I thought I would put a photo of these flowers because that is what it really looks like on the lips. I think it is extremely pretty and very unique. In my opinion a lot of brands don’t have such a colour and most of the time the colours are always the same pink, orange and red tones that get a bit boring. So if you want to try something new I really recommend this certain colour compared to the other 7 in this series.

                                                                     [UPDATE] I forgot to mention the smell of Lipnicure! As I have mentioned in the beginning of this post Clio explains Lipnicure as "Manicure for the lips" and there is a reason for that! It is the smell of this product. Lipnicure has a very faint nail polish kind of smell. It is not overbearing and the smell goes away once you apply it but I still thought I should write about it.
