Hello February! I apologise for this post being 4 days late, my wifi connection is crap and wouldn’t let me post yesterday. I don’t particularly do the whole ‘new year, new me’ motto, aside from my new 90210 and Pretty Little Liars addictions and a handful of new lipsticks I’m pretty much in the same position as last month. But I have been reaching for two lipsticks frequently which are new to me in January and there’s a few ‘non lipstick’ products I wanted to show appreciation for as well.
I was cursed by the wicked witch of the chapped lips west last month and it has meant that I’ve been neglecting all my matte lipsticks. I’ve been forced to use more balm and gloss like products to wear day to day and I have to admit it’s helped, but my lips are still painful as we go into February. When I spotted these products on a £5 each offer on Superdrug I had to buy two of the Revlon Colourstay Moisture Lip Stains . But I don’t want to talk about just lip products and hence I want to write my thoughts on the Soap and Glory Archery Pencil and an app from Oral B. (not the tooth paste, I just needed something to go in the picture🙈)
The Revlon Colourstay Moisture Lip Stain are exactly what it says on the tin, moisturising stains. They are a hard formulation to describe as they feel slightly balm like, but more of a liquid state and quite thin.
They are really pigmented and their staying power is fantastic as the gloss lasts quite long but the stain stays on the lips for practically all day. I have seen these mentioned and hyped about by a few different bloggers, in particular Fleur De Force adores them.
They come in a wide selection of colours and what I love about Revlon is all the lip products shades match, so shade 50 is the same colour in all Revlon lip products. I seem to be becoming a creature of habit because I picked very similar shades to the Revlon Colourbursts I already own.
I chose shades 45 ‘New York Scene’ and 30 ‘Milan Moment’ as I knew I would like these colours and hence if I didn’t like the product I knew it wouldn’t be as a result of the colour. In addition I love all the fashionable locations as shade names, it’s quirky and cute.
As I mentioned they were on offer when I bought them this month from Superdrug, if I recall rightly all Revlon lip products were reduced to £5 and these retailed originally at £8.99 which I think is a really good deal. I really adore them and the colour selection and formulation allows them to be wearable for both young and older lipstick lovers.
In my monthly favourites I’ve decided I’m not just gonna talk about just lipsticks but post about my makeup favourites as I love reading reviews and appraisals of products and I feel more savvy when I buy a product and I know it’s gonna be good. I hope my quick reviews of products that I’ve been loving this month makes you feel more savvy too.
The Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil came into my collection back in November and initially I was not a fan.
Unfortunately you can see the writing has rubbed off mine.

Obviously it is the top swatch.
After seeing Gabriella Lindley use it so much on her channel I gave it another go. I like to either A) fill in my entire eyebrows with it for more of a natural look and use a power to set it. Or B) as seen in my Christmas Makeup Look I use this and the Elf eyebrow kit. (See a full review by my fabulous friend Charlotte on her new blog)
Mine is in the darkest shade ‘Hot Chocolate’ and at first I thought it was too light for my brows but now I think it’s quite a natural look for daytime. Aside from the helpful spoolie and the super small wax for intricate brow work, I love it because of the lasting power. The hard wax is perfect for filling in and naturally shaping my brows but once I use the product in the morning it last all day. Zero exaggeration.
The last favourite of the month I want to blog about is an app from Oral B, this app is on the Apple App Store but as an iPhone owner I don’t know about androids. It’s a super simple app that essentially times to ensure you brush your teeth for the full 2 minutes.
Sounds too simple to be anything special right? Wrong. Whilst brushing your teeth you can read news stories, keep track of your statistics, it even gives you little motivational comments!
easy way to ensure 2 full mins of brushing
you get fun little comments
The app is designed to be used with a certain toothbrush Oral B sell with bluetooth connectivity but I don’t own one of these so I just use a normal electric Oral B one. I have converted my younger sister onto this app and we have both seen our teeth get whiter. I really would recommend giving it a go, it’s free so even if you don’t like it or use it that often you haven’t wasted any pennies.
For my first favourites post I’m extremely happy with the products (and app) I included as I would recommend all of these to everyone. I hope you enjoyed this post andplease comment below telling me your favourite lip product of the month or if you would like me to do another one of these monthly favourites posts. Thank you so much for reading and I will be posting again next Tuesday.
