Can’t remember the last time I wore a vivid lip all by itself, no other makeup. Without naturally full brows or lashes or a strong bone structure, I’ve always felt that my face is kind of blah without makeup, and that defining one feature just makes the rest fade away even more. That doesn’t mean I haven’t left the house bare-faced more often than not – it’s not the sort of thing that should stop one living a life, obviously. I’m just 99% less likely to appear in a photo. But a bold lip and nothing else IS a look, and a striking one at that (@charlottewillermakeup, global spokesperson for #Maybelline back in 2010, rocked exactly that look when I met her), whether you’ve got strong features or not. And the more I snap these no-brow, no-lash selfies, the less those things give me pause. After all, I’m not the one that has to see the lack, and frankly, no one else cares in the least. So there. *grin* . Of course when my niece saw me when she got home after school, she said “it looks a little weird, Auntie, because it’s not very balanced...” 😆 . Now you: If you could only wear one makeup item on otherwise bare face, what would it be? (Sunscreen is a given because #skincare.) . Wearing @maybelline #SuperstayMatteInk in Artist. Other shade in last slide is Self-Starter, the shade my niece is wearing in the last two posts (it’s a more dramatic shade than I would ordinarily like on a last-day-of-13 face, but ya gotta play!) . #lipstickdiary #Maybelline #matteliquidlip #longwear #mattelip #prsample #almostnomakeup #ThisIs51 #Beautygeeks https://www.instagram.com/p/B2flheNhY0_/?igshid=xinyt528d6ve
