#43 Start a Reading Challenge
Hi! We are very sorry for our absence! Please forgive us :-D
Anyways, this is my fourth (fourth! I counted) post about reading, and typically, our posts about books don’t get a lot of positive feedback. I should take the hint, reading isn’t for everyone... SIKE. I will not take the hint.
Words are delicious food for your precious brain, so I will never stop forcing books on our readers.
Why read more? There are so many benefits to reading, but here are just a few: Improved vocabulary, stress relief, expanded knowledge, mental stimulation... the list goes on!
How to read more? Some simpler tips are: read everyday (usually a sustainable amount, as short as 10 minutes a day), read books you actually enjoy, try audiobooks, and set yourself a reading goal.
There really isn’t a single loss in setting yourself a goal of how many books you want to read, and a goal will likely encourage you to read more!
Here’s a list of books I like in case you want inspiration! (I tried to give a number of genres)
Love is a Mixtape - Rob Sheffield, Autobiography (Very sad, so good)
The Hating Game - Sally Thorne, Romance
Misery - Stephen King, Horror
The Hate U Give - Angie Thomas, YA
The Magic of Reality - Richard Dawkins, Nonfiction
We Were Liars - E. Lockhart, YA/Mystery
This year I decided to read 20 books, which I worried would be hard since I almost never have time to read because of schoolwork, but ya girl did it! *Applause*
Love u guys :-) start reading >:-)
