Announced today by AMD at the Game Developers Conference better known as the GDC presser is the Radeon Pro Duo. This is the latest AMD liquid cooled duel-GPU graphics card build specifically to be the “worlds first VR content creator platform”. The card has a whopping 16 teraflops of processing to enable high-end virtual reality development. This GPU is a monster so the price is a bit scary at first looks, but if you’re a VR developer you have to check it out.
According to AMD the Radeon Pro Duo is the fastest single-slot graphics card available. Created primarily for VR content creation for education, journalism, medicine and cinema. At $1,500, this card is the most expensive Radeon card ever made, so that’s something to note. The platform includes a LiquidVR SDK making the card ready for stereoscopic VR, mapped to each eye. AMD also confirms that the card will work great for gaming due to the power threshold of the card and DirectX 12. The card takes 350 watts piped in thru 3- 8 pin connectors, two GPU’s with 4GB of VRAM for 8GB total.
The Radeon Pro Duo is arriving in Q2 2016 for $1499 USD according to AMD. “For Gamers Who Create and Creators Who Game”.
