" The modest Rose puts forth a thorn,
The humble sheep a threat'ning horn:
While the Lily white shall in love delight,
Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright. "
Finally got around to drawing my interpretation / Fan Lir (its basic af nothing ground breaking but shes adorable to me ok) her name is Lily
Yes he is a LIR. He's trans. Gamor is a trans icon and I adore him.
I have started the lineart for this drawing and then got sucked into playing RE6 with a bestie so maybe someday Gamor will be redrawn.
anyways infodump about him below the cutoff thingy idk its 1am and im tired
THIS IS NOT WELL WRITTEN ITS 1AM AND I WANT TO WRITE THIS BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP THIS IS MAINLY JUST FOR ME AND ME ALONE TO BE CRINGE AND FREE!!! dont like, fuck off to the next post
Gamor, originally Marianne (dropping his deadname), is my Lady In Red oc. He was raised in fortuna, and his father owned a bookshop/library. His family was sort of the outcasts of the group, having his mother disappear, his younger brother die from a demon attack, and his father being outspoken about some of furtuna's practices, especially after his son died. Gamor ran into vergil when they were both barely 18. His father had recently been taken by the church to... "talk", leaving him alone and an outsider poking around his library for books.
From here, cue playful teasing vs grumpy vergil turning into secret puppy love, and then heartbreak when Vergil disappeared. He said he would be back, that he would come back stronger so he can get Gamor out of fortuna. Vergil never came back. Gamor was pregnant with nero, alone, and soon gave birth. To protect Nero, he tried to run away from fortuna. Instead he got caught, and Nero was forced into the orphanage while Gamor was taken into custody of the church. Because of his attitude and behavior, the church lied and said he died in a demon attack while secretly forcing Gamor away to be a test subject. He became a prototype for experiments with turning humans into demons, being forced to become an unstable artificial half devil (something something bound to an actual snake devil arm with some sort of science spell bullshit idk its my oc im going to have fun with him) which lead to his current state.
After being told Nero died during a test (a lie to make gamor stressed to see what would happen), gamor DT for the first time, and importantly, his legs fuse in that state into a snake like tail. He broke out, and fled fortuna. Turns out his DT form is a great swimmer. He makes it to mainland, and hides away in some ruins.
Dante gets a call about a demonic presence, and goes to check it out. He finds Gamor, and senses something different about him. Instead of full out shooting him, he waits. Blah blah blah gamor finally calms down, un-DTs, and due to his unstable nature, one of his legs becomes impaired due to his legs having to fuse when he DT. While not visible in the drawing, it basically fucked up his joints so they don't really work properly anymore in his right leg.
Gamor, who is still going by Marianne at this point and still is presenting as a woman, gets taken by dante to the DMC. Dante pulls some strings and gets Gamor some fake documentation, which allows Gamor to start working. He immediately starts working on his education, getting his GED, and then going to a community college while working. He gets a degree in religion and classics, then goes to work on a masters, focusing his research into demonology. He ends up getting a job at the college he got his masters at, and became a professor of demonology. While in his college arc, he realizes he's trans, and starts to transition. He picks the name Gamor as it's his father's middle name and he likes the name. Gamor basically becomes an information guy for dante and other demon hunters. In return for specimens, he gives information and research about devils and their biology.
DMC4 occurs, and he reunites with Nero. He has a breakdown from realizing he left his child in the cult, but nobody can blame him since he was told Nero is dead. He makes it his mission to reconnect with Nero, and to be a hand helping Kyrie with the kids they brought from fortuna. Gamor steps into the role of a grandfather, and is actually trying his best to be there for Nero. He adore Kyrie btw.
DMC5 rolls around, and he is the only one to clock who V is right away, but doesn't say shit. He mad at vergil, and wants no part of what the DMC group got sucked into. However, with the extreme events of DMC5, he yields and helps. Whenever he is around V, he taunts the goth and drops subtle hints he knows what V is. When nobody is around, V opens up to Gamor, spilling all the human emotions Vergil felt about Gamor to him. The guilt, the loss, the pain. The fear of being vulnerable. Gamor, begrudgingly, forgives the part of vergil that V is. He helps more in getting V up the tree, to Urizen.
Then, DMC5 ending occurs, and Dante and Vergil leave to Hell. Gamor is alone with Nero now taking over the DMC for the next few years. 3 years post DMC5 ending, Dante and Vergil come back. Upon seeing vergil, alive and whole, Gamor throws a punch at vergil. He's mad, and rightfully so. It takes months before he even speaks to vergil besides curt harsh single word sentences. He's less mad at dante, but still mad. Slowly, Vergil somehow gets back into Gamor's life, and they have a long talk. Their relationship after that isn't perfect, but it's workable. Somewhat romantic, mainly "you are the only person I can fully ever trust" with a "you were the first person to truely see me" dynamic. They're both fucked up, traumatized, and too old for this bullshit. But, they try. end of story drop.
I also have an AU where vergil did not die after the events of DMC3, but that's my personal even more stupid AU cause im a sucker for dadgil.
anyways, that's my lore dump :3 its 1:35. Goodnight
Warnings: Implied child abuse; a sex scene; LIR is basically an OC but... every variant sort of is so...; Vergil also does not show up until halfway into the fic, that's your only warning lmao
Note: the full fic is much too long for Tumblr so here's the first few paragraphs of it. Check out AO3 if you wanna read the rest!
Cecilia is twelve when she decides to kill her family.
Alright, technically she isn't going to be doing it– she's going to make a demon do it.
But that's still the issue, isn't it? Hating them enough to have her dreaming about it at night, imagining herself going into their rooms and holding a pillow over their faces. She dreams the Savior will provide holy retribution for her, a statue of his image breaking suddenly and collapsing on top of them. The mass will part ways just long enough, just separate enough so that they'll be the only casualties and when everyone checks on Cecilia, they'll be so–
No. It's too elaborate, too statistically impossible. There's so little chance of her parents dying that it pisses her off, so much that she decides to throw herself into demonic research. A summoning circle, a gate to hell– anything to make a deal.
She's going to summon a demon. Sparda was a demon. This must be it, her comeuppance.
So she pours the next couple of years into learning Latin, Aramaic among other dead languages, reading maps and tracing out coordinates, reading Fortuna’s own history and learning its older language as well (and she already knows some Italian so it’s leagues easier) and she studies. Some of it goes to school and the labours of mathematics but most of it is in the old library, staring down at books she doesn't understand yet.
Yet. She will learn it though.
Two years later, through various barters with the port side folk, she’s found it: a summoning key of sorts that’s been hiding in a yellowed book, falling to bits at the spine. It talks of a creature that feeds on blood and through a sacrifice of it, it can come through a small rift in between worlds. Fortuna is a favored spot for demons, often highly regarded as ‘welcoming’ and ‘favored’ for their sacrifices, old texts that recount its dividing veil being dangerously thin. It's not a story most of the local population will know and those that do often say it in high regards with the Savior, Sparda. A feudal lord, they say, ruled humans as he stopped by various places in the world, listening to their music and admiring the view from the castle. A demon become man.
Most Fortuna folk– business men, housewives, entrepreneurs, those with simple lives, they won't care really. It's an old legend. He's their god and they worship him and he blesses them. That's all there is to it. But she knows more than enough to wonder about him.
Cecilia wonders if his kindness applied to cruel men, wonders if that benevolence could spare her parents (and possibly even Vivianna) of it for just a little bit so they can get their just desserts. Would the same Sparda see what they do for him in his name and praise them? Let them live when they inflict judgement on her when she doesn’t do as she’s told, hangs out with who she desires and comes home to lashings that must be hidden away? Was Sparda ever cruel?
It doesn't matter. She's not Sparda. A demon is better than her and she tries not to think about it.
Cecilia makes the summoning circle in the basement of their home around three in the morning, something about the devil’s hour but really, the circle can be made anytime. It doesn't matter, she wants this to work, so she still lays in bed and stares at the clock as the seconds tick by. At a quarter to three, she gets up and she prepares herself to say the chant and spill her blood. It’s what she's always wanted, what she's worked for. This is it.
In the basement, she has the candles lit, the incense burning and the circle drawn onto the wooden floor boards. The book she’s using is falling to bits in her hands but she’s careful holding it, setting it down as gently as she can when she's sure the chant has been memorized. She surveys the room, eyes quickly darting to the door as her heartbeat pounds in her head, ready for Father to come downstairs to unleash Hell himself.
He won’t get the chance. She hopes it’s been worth it.
The knife raises, pressed against her wrist as she struggles to get her breathing under control just long enough to say the chant. It shouldn’t be so nerve-racking when she wants them to suffer like her but her hands shake anyway. Her head is getting dizzy from the adrenaline rush but maybe the incense is starting to get to her instead.
A shake of her head. No, it doesn’t matter. She has to do this– she must give her blood, she has to feed this demon and make a deal. She has to watch them die and then she’ll–
Then Cecilia freezes in place, the knife still against her skin. Then what? What comes after this? When the demon finishes tearing her family apart, would it still abide by their contract and leave? Would this demon even accept the contract? She’s looked for so long, spent months deciphering the symbols and the book. She can’t back down but she’s suddenly thinking of the future where her parents are dead and her sister must finish raising her.
No, not even that. Vivianna wouldn't do it. Older sister be damned, she would say that Cecilia’s bed has been made and she must lay in it. The orphanage will take her and they’ll stuff her in a constricting uniform, try to train her to act exactly as Father would have wanted and–
It’s no use. It’s a cycle. History is doomed to repeat itself. She’s never going to be free.
And maybe, the worst maybe of it all, is that the demon continues to kill as it pleases. There’s no way she can defend herself, she’s seen the illustrations and drawings and warnings. They’ll tear her to pieces along with the librarian that hides her in the back when Cecilia is too afraid to go home yet, they’ll kill the old guy at the pier who teaches her to sail when she can sneak away long enough despite her anxiety on the water– the demon won’t care.
But Sparda was a demon. He cared about humanity despite it all. What does she care for?
The knife falls from her hand, lands in front of her with a clatter. It’s as clean as when she pulled it out of the kitchen drawer. Her hands go to her face and she's staring at the creases in her palms, the black of the charcoal on her fingertips. Then she starts to sob into them, the weight of the realization pushing her to the floor, curling up and smudging the circle.
It doesn’t matter. None of this matters. No one is going to help her. She must do this some other way, by herself– alone.
Well, she’s always been alone but the certainty of it terrifies her. She’s nearly fifteen, she just needs to wait less than two years. Two years. It crushes her chest, has her covering her mouth as she struggles not to make any more sound than she’s let out. She's so close. Just a little longer.
She must do this herself: a mantra she repeats in her head as she tries to control the sobs, stuffing her tears down just long enough to clean the floor. She must be the one to clean the marks on the floor, must return the knife back to its spot on the knife rack her mother has, must be the one with a clear head because all yelling does is upset her. It must be her and her alone.
Cecilia does her best to clean up in the dim light before going to bed, slowly tip-toeing up the stairs and skipping the last two steps because those are the loudest. Under the covers, she's clutching a pillow to her chest as her mind races.
She needs to leave. No one is going to protect her. It’s always just been her, hasn’t it? If she could leave for the mainland, could she make it there? Could she survive? Can she push down the terror of the endless ocean blue long enough to escape?
So, while everyone in the house sleeps, she plans again, staring at the ceiling and watching the seconds tick on the clock again. She has no choice. This has to be done.
New wip! It is the spooky season and this a thing about me is that I'm Mexican so I have been watching some Mexican horror movies and one of them inspired me to do this wip because I have a headcanon between Vergil and lir.
I will try to finish it quickly before Halloween!!
I finally finished the lir draw, it took me almost all September but I finished and so I have my new glasses too so I'll try to draw more in digital (ㆁωㆁ)
There, they are so cute and Vergil is just a silly bean let him be please, after all the things he should have some fluff and cute moments ( ´◡‿ゝ◡`)
