my second day i started a little later than yesterday. still being tired and not sleeping very well. also the walking up and down hill is killing me.
So i had a small breakfast and took the tram to belém and first had a frappucino. cause well it was already hot and i was feeling it.
After that i walked over to the monastery (mosteiro dos jerónimos) a unesco world heritage site.
and so beautiful from the outside. and then you go inside and i was blown away (pics on flickr) so beautiful. but too bad people dont understand they have to be quiet inside a church even if its not open anymore.
after that i crossed the street and went to see padrão dos descobrimentos which is 54meters high and you can take an elevator up and have a really nice viev. you can see where the river tejo goes into the atlantic. also to me the river smells really salty. not sure why cause it should be fresh water. maybe just me being an idiot.
i had a small lunch and walked to the torre de bélem. a big old tower, that was initially build to defend the city and its pretty big. theres a small staircase to the top. Of course i had to walk all the way to the top at once instead of just doing it part by part. from the top a very very nice view.
i set out to see the archeology museum but instead i decided to got to the national palaca. i took the bus cause walking up another hill was too much.
the palace is really big and beautiful from the outside, inside there are still a lot of room in the original condition and on the floor of the queens bedroom there is a fucking polar bear rug. i´m usually against this but since its been there for like 100 years. it only freaked me out a little bit. other than that the palace was really nice.
and that was my first day. relaxing a little now. maybe take a little nap and then going out for food.
