It's the first chilly day of the season (under 50,) time to break out some big reds! The Lis Neris "Lis Neris" is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the estate's vineyards in San Lorenzo and Corona. The soils are calcerous, gravel on a broad alluvial shelf at about 60m above sea level. Stainless steel fermented, followed by 20 months in 225L French oak and allowed to settle in the bottle for another 12 months before release. Only 500 cases produced on avg. Aromas: red fruits, fresh herbs, baking spice and roasted coffee. Lis Neris "Jurosa" from San Lorenzo, Friuli, Italy. 100% Chardonnay grown on the right bank of the Isonzo river, planted in calcerous, gravel soils on an alluvial shelf at about 60m above sea level. The wine is fermented in 500L French oak followed by 11 months on the lees with frequent battonage and an additional 12 months in bottle. Aromas: stone fruit, baked apple and spice. Still summer here in NYC! If you are a fan of Sauvignon Blanc try and find this one: Lis Neris "Lis" from Venezia-Giulia, Italy. It's a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay planted in calcerous-gravel soils on an alluvial shelf on the right side of the Isonzo river in San Lorenzo. The grapes are fermented in 500 liter neutral French oak followed by 11 months of aging on the lees with frequent battonage (stirring). Once bottled the wine is allowed to rest for a further 12 months before release. Aromas: pear, rosemary, lime zest, papaya. Flavors/Mouthfeel: green papaya, fresh cut herbs, pear skin and yellow grapefruit with a rich texture and prickly acidity.
