LiTE-HAUS announces our first short term intensive artist residency programs for artists to expand and improve their practice in a serene and professional environment in the heart of Berlin's vibrant art scene. This in-person residency will be conducted in English language. Artists at any stage of their careers may apply - from students to established artists. Space is limited to six artists. The program includes work stations, instruction, development, collaboration, critique, connection with art professionals, insight into the inner workings of a culture space, direct contact with the program team leaders, and group exhibitions. This residency is open to international artists, not just Berlin residents, but you must be in Berlin during the residency, or able to travel easily for meetings.
Although we have hosted guest residency programs before, this is the first artist residency organized by the projektraum directly, offering a program working with LiTE-HAUS founder Debbie Davies.

Karolína Netolická studied at the Higher Vocational School of Applied Arts in Prague. The domain of her work is drawing with dry pastel on canvas.
She works with multi-layered figurative compositions or animal compilations, inclined to large format artworks. In her drawings, she tries to capture two different - but at the same time interdependent worlds. She contrasts the world of man and the non-human world (nature).
She most often compares the human and bird worlds. She perceives nature as a lost home, to which it is possible to return only under the condition of changing our previous behavior and lordly attitude. In the paintings, the barriers or boundaries between man and nature are expressed symbolically by means of human products of the present time.

As an architect, artist, and environmentalist Lisa Reindorf has focused on the confluence of built structures and nature. Most of her artwork has dealt with building into fragile ecosystems and the conflict between natural and architectural systems.
Currently she focuses on the positive and regenerative process of nature to defend our cities against sea level rise. Instead of the destruction of sea level rise with floods and water pollution, she paints scenes of nature protecting, such as mangroves that provide a bolster against sea level rise. Other paintings portray marshes as flood defense and other natural solutions.
Nature inspires and nurtures us. And we must nurture it it in return. Education, research and environmental advocacy are a key part of Reindorf's art practice. She has lectured extensively at universities, galleries and conferences about art and environmental issues. We can all continue learning.
