She sent the text, closing her book fully this time, and walking out from her room. Getting to his room didn’t take very long, especially since it was practically second nature to her now. Being twelve weeks pregnant now, she was starting to show a little more prominently, though the dress she had chosen to wear was hiding as much as it could. Once she got to his door, she didn’t bother knocking. Instead, she tried the doorknob and twisted it open, walking into the sitting area. “So you wanted to talk?”

When he heard the knock at his door, he had a feeling he knew exactly who it was. Kieran hesitated, figuring he could just ignore her and wait until she left. But he knew he had to face her at some point. Getting up, he walked across the room and opened the door. “Ellie… What are you doing here?”
Ellie didn’t know what to expect, but she hadn’t expected to be met with such indifference. Still, she pushed past him and into his room, not waiting to be invited in. “I came here to talk, because I think we need to talk.” She sat down on his couch. “Please, come sit with me.”

It had been a few days since he had seen Ellie, and that was a little strange. Since he had met her over a month ago, he hadn’t gone too long without seeing her. But she hadn’t been feeling well the last time they had spoken, so he figured it had something to do with that. When he heard a knock at his door, he opened it and smiled when he saw her there. “Hey… I was wondering what had happened to you.”
Ellie smiled for a moment and Kieran opened the door, but she remembered what she had come there to talk about and it faded slightly. “I’m sorry I’ve been distant... I need to talk to you.” She looked beyond him into his room and then at him. “Can I come in?”

“Well, I was thinking that we could go and walk around outside. It may not be as fun as going for a drive, but I need the fresh air.”
