1. Most annoying ear-worm you ever had?

My mom creates curriculum for developmentally disabled adults and so there’s sometimes these simplistic/ridiculous songs (bc it’s way easier to remember things when they’re sung).  This one in particular is the most annoyinby far and it sticks in your head like glue (like super glue - for days and days).  Here’s my head, here’s my head...here’s my shoulders, here’s my shoulders...shake your body! 

2. What song should they play at your funeral?

Wow this is a super super tough one. And I’m going to skip it...but here’s a story about why.  My mom told all us kids what song she wants played at her funeral, “Spirit in the Sky”. I love that song...we all grew up listening to it and dancing and singing. But now, anytime any of my siblings or I hear it, we start tearing up and getting sad. Song’s not ruined by any means, but it has a lot of weight attached to it even though my mom’s still alive. SO, I’m not going to choose bc I don’t want to be reminded of my impending doom every time I hear said song :p

3. What do you want them to say in your eulogie? 

Oy vey, these are intense...lol. Hopefully that I lived a full life and overcame a lot. I definitely want to have children, so as long as I had done right by them, that’s enough.

4. Which is the most useless invention to this day?

Oh man, there’s a lot...tons of things invented all the time and sold on late night TV. But I’m gonna go with one that I’ve seen around fairly often that makes me sick and annoyed every time. The saggy balls that hang behind a truck. Like...really? I just find that incredibly unnecessary and gross.

5. Your favorite cuss-word and why?

Fuck. Fucking fuck. Godfuckingdamnit. Shitfuck. Fanfuckingtastic. You fuck. Afuckingmazing. Fuck you. Fuck off. Fuck me. FUCK. Fuck is literally everything. A noun, verb, adjective, adverb, interjection...it is the best word ever invented, hands down. And I use it far too much.

6. A line from your favorite poem?

I don’t have one favorite poem - I am constantly in awe and in love with poetry. So I go through phases of obsession with certain poets or styles - at this point Siken is one of my favorites. From “Little Beast” which I love because it’s all about looking for something, anything, to fill that void...and the horrible emptiness that eventually follows when you realize patching the wound isn’t enough.

Mirrors and shop windows returned our faces to us,

and not the doorways we had hoped for

7. Something you can’t do well but wish you could?

SING! I love singing! While my voice isn’t necessarily grating (lol) it isn’t good. And I would love to have that freeing feeling of just being able to belt out at the top of my lungs (like I do in my car) and have others actually enjoy it. I’ve gotten goosebumps from other’s singing many times, I wish I could give that same feeling to others.

8. The most overrated book/movie?

Hmmm interesting question. I’m just gonna go from the top of my head one movie I really didn’t give two shits about was Paranormal Activity. I love horror and suspense and have seen tons of creepy/fucked-up/scary movies. This was just incredibly underwhelming. And people said they were crying or scared shitless...it was just kind of ‘meh.’

9. Describe your dream house.

Lots of windows and on either a beach, by a large lake, or in the mountains. I don’t care much about the house itself (as long as it’s not totally falling apart). It’s more important about the location.

10. A trope everyone love that you can’t stand.

I don’t really hate any tropes. Tbh, I will read just about anything as long as the writing is good. There have been many things that I’m like “guhhh no that’s not my thing that’s overdone that’s weird that’s annoying” and then read something by an amazing writer, fell in love, and was totally proven wrong.

11. The nicest thing someone ever said about you?

gah. um. I am horribly uncomfortable with compliments so. I guess the most important thing is my friend who lives across the country telling me she wouldn’t have gotten through this past year without me. Which just meant a lot because she had been near suicidal and relapse. So knowing that she truly meant those words was really the best and nicest thing anyone’s ever said about me.
