Literary Review - The Thin Executioner by Darren Shan
This is fast paced story is a rollercoaster from start to finish, pardon the cliché. The world Shan has created is both amazing and horrifying, each new city bringing even more color and culture to an already vivid world. The relationship between the two main characters, Jebel Rum and his slave, blooms so beautifully throughout the story and it becomes nearly impossible not to fall in love with them both. Shan seamlessly writes compelling and deep characters that grow and learn from their experiences without compromising the sense of place of the story.
