Tao I

You agree with yourself.

It is death.

You reject your past (you call it false).

But you cannot speak “no” and live.

You negate yourself –

You speak “I am not who I am.”

You say was

Forgetting that no self has a was.

You raise your fist and declare your was is overcome.

You deny your was –

You deny the was of all.

What do you reject?

No matter…

It rules you.

You deny death and die.

You deny an end and the endless possesses you.

And rejecting you are prone –

Bound to your master.

Do you hear Death laughing?

Your “no” is your “yes” to Death and death laughs.

You are small –

You refuse to contain multitudes.

You deny the spirit and worship Death

You deny the flesh and worship Death

You deny your past

But it is undying.

The Tao says “Very well, I contradict myself!”

All who flow in the Tao –

Fluid…Supple...

Tasting…Excreting...

Fucking...Frenzied...

Freely...

Self...Not-self –

Say yes to what they have overcome

Without overcoming,

Live

Live, cum Tao,

Contradicting

And unbound

Large as the Tao, as all that rules

Speak “yes” –

I am my flesh

I am my spirit

I am vast

“I am that I am” – 

Live in the flesh and spirit is unbound

Live in the spirit and flesh is unbound.

There are not two –

The negation of two affirms the One –

I contradict

I live.

Rebirth

Fear restrains you,

The distress of the memory...

Your body birth,

And ensoulment

Begun in peace in the weltering sea,

Legs and arms floating

Genitals cupped in warmth.

Pale murmurs overheard,

Mere rumors and distant echoes

Through oozy channels

Of a world beyond sense...

Until you were thrust

By spasms pressing

Rolling throbbing

Your tranquil pool of life,

Your cosmos cleaving

To birth you into that world

That couldn't exist.

Terrified screams

An alien clamor envelops,

Throat filled with choking breath

Drowning you in the cold impossible universe...

Fondled, squeezed

Stabbed by the instruments

Of a frenetic pain-drenched world...

Until enfolding warmth of arms and breast,

Hands soothing the strangling

Sensations of fearful hunger,

Thirst, cold...

Guiding eager trembling lips to

A quivering nipple

Bursting with untasted delights,

Tongue lapping toothless jaws seeking

The crystal sheen

Squeezing sucking

The slippery font.

The baptism that subdues the memory

Of the birthing fear...

Until rebirth awakens it,

Muted screams within begin

Anticipating this once alien world

Soon disintegrating, exploding,

Thrusting you out among

Faintly heard silver chimes

From undiscovered realms.

Endure the terrors and pain again?

Clinging instead — desperately — to Silenus' wisdom:

“Better not to be (re)born!”

Curled into a fetal ball

Kicking against walls

Of stone and logic…

Until incessantly

Untimely joy

Melodious morning calls

From beyond the womb,

Teeming murmurs

Of life after life

Food, sex surging

Song, wine dripping

Skin stroked, tasted

Reality replete, resounding

“All is sacramental!”

An embryonic spirit

Yet enfleshed,

Orbed in dappled light

Uncertain eager hope

Quelling trembles of fear

To give up its world again

Drawn to spheres

Of higher life

Always present

To touch our senses whole.
