Little Lev slipping during practice and Kenma notices
— at first, no one really notices when Lev starts to mess up more than usual
— he misses the ball and keeps tripping over his own two feet, constantly whining and pouting when he’s scolded for his slip ups
— when he sniffles and roughly wipes his eyes after Yamamoto snaps at him is when Kenma notices
— having dealt with littles before, Kenma knows all the signs and he’s wondering how he didn’t notice sooner
— when they get to take a water break, Kenma pulls Lev aside and he’s scared he’s going to be scolded again for messing up
— but instead of being yelled at, Kenma holds out a hand and asks how old he is
— lev is a little surprised at first by he holds out a hand, all his fingers stretched out to tell Kenma that he’s five
— “You want to sit on the bench with me, little one?” Kenma usually is running on fumes by the time their half way point break comes up, so it isn’t weird for him to sit out ( if kuroo allows it )
— thankfully, kuroo doesn’t care and let’s Lev and Kenma share the bench
— leaning over his shoulder, he watches Kenma play his game as he tries to give him advice on what to do
— it’s never the right advice, but Kenma allows him to tell him what to do, even if he gets the terrible GAME OVERscreen
— Kenma tells him about the game and lets him try a few times, walking him through it and praising him when he did a simple task
— he could tell it was getting lev into a younger headspace, giggling and bouncing from how proud of himself he was
— by the time practice was over, lev was three or so years old, snuggled up to Kenma side as he sucked on his thumb and Kenma played with his hair
— Kenma discovered he really liked little Lev
— but only little lev, not big lev
