I love 1st person if it’s done right, but lately I’ve been reading YA where it’s like ‘I looked over. Shirt. I’m wearing a shirt. I feel cold’ and it’s like really put me off lmao. I don’t read any fics in first person tho like a lot of people don’t

In books, I feel like it can be really great. I always struggle with examples when I need one, but I know that I’ve read some where it’s not even a little bit of an issue and I love every second. But, yeah, YA first person is a lot like fic first person to me? Weird descriptions that I don’t need. Not the right tone for what I see for the show/movie/book it’s based on.

We literally all watched it because Amber was watching it lol. But, it’s about a girl who graduates high school and decides to take a year off. And during that year off, she blogs anonymously about her life/sex life with three different guys: her actual boyfriend [her age], some college professor [fourteen years older than her?], and the husband of a family she nanny’s for [thirty years older? I don’t remember]. And she’s got a bunch of problems that she talks about, too.
