The sari, though rooted in tradition and culture, is still just a piece of fabric. It requires no cutting or stitching to wear, it’s easy to store, and can be styled in an infinite number of ways, much like the “Little Black Dress”. 

So why not turn this strip of cloth (which by the way is what the ‘sari’ literally means) into a skirt? 

1) You can style it casually with converse, and a leather jacket for drinks with the girls (appropriate for the cooler weather that will be coming)

or 

2) style it like you’re going to a red carpet event. Leave more fabric at the end, and create a dramatic train that trails as you make your ‘a little late’ entrance.
